DPF Regen Frequency / Issues / Force discussion.

I had a similar issue, and mine was the EGR valve. Mines at nearly 50k, 204 engine
Our work takes us all over the Uk, so lots of motorway miles, and long drives.
Had the light come up, and Vw assist came out, cleared the fault, but it was back within a week.
The dealer agreed the Egr needed replacing, and had my van in for a week, because they had issues with it !
Picked it up, fault still showed.
It went back for a new probe, whatever that is.

Then, a week later, they asked for it back again. They said they needed to run more tests, but who knows what the real reason was.

I’ve just dropped it off with the dealer and told him that I’m sure it’s not a DPF issue as the DPF light has never come on and I’ve given it several long runs with no joy, also the stop start is working fine. Should have it back in a couple of hours. Off for some breakfast now.

Derek.

Van back. They say it’s an adblue issue but there’s no fault logged, so how do they know?? I’ve to drive it as normal to see if it the light comes on again. If it does it’s going in for a ‘few’ days and they’ll supply a replacement van. Let’s see.

Derek.

It seems that these days, having something like Carista in your glove box is essential, if only to give
you some ammo for dealer visits, although (touch wood) I've only needed mine for other peoples cars!
My second year fee came out of my Paypal account, wondered what it was at first, its a
"Google pre-approved payment" of £34, and you have to drill down a bit to see what its
for, it says "Carista OBD2 Pro subscription".
Cheers
Phil

Just had a similar issue, yellow engine management light illuminated. Carista came up with fault code P154B so contacted VW Assist who have confirmed the problem is a faulty DPF pressure sensor. Due to be replaced tomorrow I'll see if it solves the problem.

Took my van in again yesterday for the 5th time in a matter of months with the engine management light on .
I've had the Egr changed and it's still coming on , I'm doing 400 plus miles a week .
They blamed me the first time and said I'd over filled it with Ad blue even though I hadn't, charged me £188 .
I'm about to complain to customer services over the way they've treated me and left me hanging about .
Mines a 66 plate 102 engine

Please tell me you did not paynthem the 188 quid theynasked for.....
I hadn't a choice with them having my van and keys,.
The vw assist driver told me they would blame me for putting to much Ad blue in , it's still at vw garage at the moment and I've had a call saying that they can't understand why the engine oil is low and that they think the oil might not be the incorrect type.
I've spoken to the garage where I bought it from to inform them and they said vw are talking rubbish they take all their vehicles to Kwik fit for the services and no way do they put the wrong oil or not enough oil in .
Still waiting to see the outcome yet .

Time to ask them for a refund. Putting too much Adblue in causes the EML to illuminate? What a shyte design.

Now 2 years old, I had the check engine light come on a month ago for the first time. Arranged an early appointment with the supplying dealer and they duly cleared the code having carried out a 2 hour regen. Now the light is back on again, as before, no reduction in power but I seem to be using more fuel than previously. I'm up early tomorrow morning to return to my seat in the customer area no doubt for another 2 hours.
The van is run around the city most day but has the occasional run out of town and I suspect that may be the issue. Can anyone give me some ammo for the dealer in the morning? I can't afford to be visiting my dealer every few weeks, particularly when the warranty runs out next year.
Help please!

Thanks, Derek.

Hi how did your van turn out. I got 102bhp on friday . 9000 miles on the clock . 2 years old. Yellow EML came on after driving 50miles from dealers. They done a static regen and cleared the code .
Keen to hear how you got on

I would take it back and ask for a refund. Was this from a vw dealer?
