Ec160 no power

Hi all , complete newbie here so don't be too brutal ....
Fitted a BT battery monitor to my leisure battery today, just loosened connectors, slipped in wires and retightened. The monitor is displaying fine. However now have no display on the sergeant ec160 unit and no leisure electrics ? My Ctek 250dse is still showing as charging LB when engine running. Checked the little 15 amp fuse , it appears fine. Any advice appreciated.

Plug van into ehu and Sargent display comes on , switch off ehu and display goes off. So I'm guessing no power coming from leisure battery for some reason ? Even though it's 12.7

Double check those main battery connections.(Leisure battery)

And those fuse holders.

Something may be loose or come disconnected.

Thanks for the help , was a loose battery terminal connection , hate those quick release connectors. Thanks for the help Dellmassive !! Now I just have to find why the battery goes from full to half empty, with nothing apparently on, in just two or three days ?

fit a BM2 battery monitor and post the weeks plot. . .

That's the monitor I fitted yesterday so will monitor for a week. I think my problem stems from the fact that I only drive the van 20 mins to work and 20 mins back each day. Still drops faster than I would have expected though. I will post the results. Thanks for your assistance

I plugged it into mains hookup for about 16 hrs , thought that would have been sufficient. (It wasn't completely flat, down to about 12.0 though

Here's a display over the last 7 days battery state. As you can see battery is dropping at a steady rate . Battery knackered or being drained by something ? What can I do to establish the cause ?

How old is your battery?

And has it often been below 50%?

Could be a parasitic drain or it could be loss of capacity/internal shorting due to age and discharge damage.

There's quite an extensive thread diagnosing a similar situation (which turned out to be a bit of both) with @wallport over here:

Battery is 6 months old, battery may have dropped below 50% a few times when I first had it and didn't realise that it had to be kept above 50%

Looking at your last trace you seem to be getting quite high but very short voltage spikes but no really sustained charging - except in the middle of 05/16 - 05/17

What's happening with the van at those points?

What type of battery do you have - from the top it looks like a standard/wet/flooded type not an AGM/EFB type?

The short spikes are 20 mins drive to work and the return journey in evening. The longer spell was where I plugged it in to charge via ehu
