EGR cleaned but still having issues.

Hi morning yes she’lls premium diesel is just like COSTCO diesel
It’s supposed to have the additives in to help keep engine clean etc ,,,,
My fuel gauge is same from full it’s 30 miles home from COSTCO
And on getting home gauge drops and it seems too hold at 3/4 of a tank for over a week
We fill up every two weeks and this roughly takes tank down too half or just under
with around 390 done on this amount of fuel this is everyday road and motorway driving
And if we do more motorway I’m getting around 40-45 to gallon
We did leeds to London and did it on 3/4 of a tank .??
So I’m same will max mileage at around 650 miles a tank maybe 700 at a push
But that would be a good clear steady run lol
So engine runs fine on COSTCO fuel ⛽
It’s supermarkets fuel I won’t use
I’m angry at VW not having the balls too stand up and fix issues they know of
They’re waiting for our 3 years warranty too dry up then there EGR CASH COW COMES INTO PLAY how many transporter vans running around.? Easy money
Just look how many carbon cleaning companies have sprung up
to deal with emissions issues for MOT TEST TIME .?
Sorry that’s how I see VW it’s easy too baby sit warranty cases then reel them in ££££
I’ve restored classic vintage cars all my life and never had a vehicle like this
Yes the Enviromental issue is a priority
From diesel so do something VW
in fact they don’t care there going electric next
So dinosaur fuel good old diesel is not important anymore
I love the van but have never hated something so much in such a short time for faults
I’ve dragged 1930s cars out of barns and had em driving in less then a day after been laid up since WW2
Thanks everyone for your support
Please no matter how small an issue give VW hell they need too start too look after us
As with out us they have NOTHING so come on stand up and be counted
Keep in touch guys & galls ok. Xxx Royboy

Hi guys well van gone in to VW LEEDS and first impression is good they seem very
Personal service oriented
And I got hire van to come home in and I guess wil pick mine back up tomorrow
So after speaking to very young front desk guy
He was very understanding and stated that many people had come to them
From sheffield VW .??
So he stated too me that even helped a guy out with new EGR
even through his warranty was only a day or so out of date
This way he said we gain a new long term customer
Who knows we look after them .??
So time will tell stories are great but getting results is better thanks guys & gals
Xxx Royboy

Hi you guys & gals and fellow DUBBERS LOL
OK just got back from VW LEEDS and I must say I’m feeling human again .??
It’s the first time I’ve not had to kick off ,,,,
Regarding issues I must say for a brand new van center
I realy like the way I was dealt with kept up too dat on issues
Like they rang me and said my van needed a ADD-BLUE update from VW
They asked if van was chipped .? Or messed with I said no it’s factory
Then went on too say EGR FLUSH done again .?? And the system has had a Add-blue has
Updated software and I’ve been given 8 FREE yes. FREE full refills of add-blue when it’s ready for top up .??
On VW they issue you a stamp card and every time you need it you call dealership
Book it in or just drop in I don’t know
And it’s FREE X8 full addblue tank fulls
So point is I’m very happy with leeds and thank them for the service
They even told me
Sheffield VW should have swoped them leaking rear shocks for free under warranty
They couldn’t do it for me as it’s been dealt with by sheffield but at least they where honest
That means more too me than getting angry trying to claim what is warranty issue anyway
So rear shock are not dead yet
My spunk is up and they will get round two I’ve contacted the motorist ombudsman
Too file a claim against VW
SO fingers crossed I don’t see that frigging warranty service light on again
All the best every one
See if your transporter can get the free addblue update mine is a 67 plate
Good luck and thank you VW LEEDS Xxx Royboy

Good news! Fingers crossed it works out for you!
Hi yes I sure hope so I must say I’m glad I took the VW ASSIST guys info on visit to leeds VW depot
There still finding there feet but with it been a family business
They seem to value you more then big unit business like JCT600 SHEFFIELD - VW
Yeah they have too make money
But I hope a lot more honestly and fairly
Feel very happy after getting van back I do love it too bits but hate this
Won’t do as it’s told business
It’s like having a naughty child any more and he’s going in naughty garage out of site lol
Thanks everyone check on your Addblue software update you never know
8x free top ups worth having saves a few £££
Night night everyone xx Royboy

Hi, can you advise the contact details for VW Leeds please as there looks to be a couple of options in the area. My first service is due in a few months and I’m centrally located between Sheffield, Manchester, and Leeds.

I have T6 and Coolant System is Faulty. Everyday Level went down and lights comes on dashboard. every next day when I started the engine and then when I open Coolant Bottle Cap then Level comes up. Dealers couldn’t find the fault i don’t know what should I do ?

I have the same problem on my T6 102bhp euro 6 5 speed. Check the coolant very low open the cap and it comes back up, put almost 2 litres in one week.

It will always come back up if you open the cap.
Alway check first thing in the morning when cold.

EGR valve on my 2016 102 BHP t6
It’s been flushed once at 14000 miles
Can anyone tell me if this is a revised unit From theses numbers pleaseBA7F182E-218E-46DF-9493-8BB9DAC3A3B6.jpeg

I've got no idea if there’s revised part but my EGR has been flushed 5 times in 30k miles

Update...

Hi since I went to Leeds vw at Beeston and they did a addblue update of some kind
VW then issue me with 8 free tanks of Addblue for having the update done .?
funny after this I’ve not had a engine management light on since this update
god knows what they did but vans been fine ...??
but I must say leeds has been the best VW dealer I’ve been too and recommend them over anyone
so I’m in same boat as yourself my van is due it’s 1st MOT November 2020
and then it’s out of warranty as much as I love the van I don’t want EGR issues every few months or even every year for MOT time
so I’m reluctantly thinking of selling my pride and joy while it’s in pristine condition
a black factory kombi
VW as a company have treated me shit I will never buy another VW ever sounds silly as I love my kombi
but don’t want too be stuck with a lemon of a vehicle so got tuff decision to make I’m afraid
so I wish you well hope you are trouble free after EGR refit all the best Royboy

Good luck @roy.boy1, my van has had three flushes in the last 10 months. Total waste of time, I’ve logged a complaint with VW customer care and all they could advise me to do was to take it to a different dealer when it happens again, which is over 100 miles away. If the problem keeps persisting and VW keep making the cheapest possibly warranty fix then this will be my last Transporter.

good morning I’ve just read your post and I’ve been in about same times it’s like VW don’t care about the issues
they just want you to take the shity fix till your warranty has expired then they suit there waiting behind there big glass
doors waiting for you to return and then skin you alive with new EGR New pipes fittings and any extras they can stick
a massive repair bill up your arse
this EGR CLEAN is just playing for time till warranty runs off just think how many diesel VWs are out there
they can build a EGR cleaner but can’t re desire new EGRsystem to fix issues

like I’ve said it’s thanks to so many folk on here that have been kind and too reply
to my issues that I really see how every one who owns these vans campers and kombis are getting shafted
there not cheap Machines

so I’m in same boat as yourself my van is due it’s 1st MOT November 2020
and then it’s out of warranty as much as I love the van I don’t want EGR issues every few months or even every year for MOT time or any faults anytime I’m very keen on services and maintenance

I used to restore vintage cars as my hobby
so I like my van maintained to a good level not stupid but when EGR faults are popping up every few hundreds or thousands of miles I don’t need this shit I’m now retired I’ll heath
and are thinking of taking a decision I never wanted to make
by taking on a mobility car this way I’m not stuck with a kombi I can’t trust .??

so I’m reluctantly thinking of selling my pride and joy while it’s in pristine condition
a black factory kombi
VW as a company have treated me shit I will never buy another VW ever sounds silly as I love my kombi
but don’t want too be stuck with a lemon of a vehicle
so got tuff decision to make I’m afraid
I hope everyone gives VW hell at head office over any faults

they wouldn’t even replace my rear shocks
at 1 year old and only 1500 miles they failed by leaking and my kombi is a T32 so heavy duty
as there Monroe they have a standa 2 year warranty and VW refused to replace
this is why you got to fight them the don’t care once they got your cash
good luck everyone thank you for support your all amazing guys and gals xxx Royboy

Unfortunately my experience of that service centre is appalling and I will definitely not be going back again. During a service and warranty work they scratched my paintwork. Broke two trims, spilt oil all over the engine bay with no attempt to clean, and did not fill the oil level to the correct level.

I got a reluctant apology which only happened after I raised a complain with VWUK. Most disappointing is they point blank refused to do anything about the scratches but did send new trims and oil for me to sort myself.
