Erberspacher diesel heater

Hi,
well first opportunity I have had to take a look at my d2 this morning. Up in the air, plastic covers off, d2 casing off, control unit off, checked all cables and plugs, reconnected and left both metal hoses off, tried firing it up again, H1 service! read codes, same again, P000223, cleared it, tried again, canbus communication error, cleared that and now all I can get is spanner sign with ’no heater’ message! Before this I checked the screen that shows how many hours the heater had run for - 14! The control unit sticker sticker states it was manufactured in 2020! Is this how reliable these units are or am I just unlucky? Is there anything more I can do or is it a trip to a specialist? If so, can one be recommended near Leeds?
many thanks in advance,

Gary.

This is who I used.

There is also a good Eberspacher approved in Derby. It'll cost you about £300 for a service.

When mine had H1 and other errors leading to "No heater" I took it into PF Jones in Manchester. Mine had water damage in the heater (bad fitting which allowed water in through the inlet). They stripped down, gave it a really good clean, repositioned the inlet and serviced it for around £250 IIRC. They provided photos of the before and after. Worked without fault since.
