Factory fitted alarm - Highline

Hi,
Great post, and I'm now pretty sure my 2020 T28 Highline has a Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser but just for peace of mind is there anyway of getting proof?
Online checker even or something from a dealer?
My insurance is due for renewal this weekend and I'd love to have something if the insurers needed confirmation.

All the 6.1 alarms conform to Thatcham 1. Look closely at the official vw brochure and options list and it confirms this.

I have a copy of the 2022 MY price and spec list that confirms it if that's any use, could email you a copy.

Thanks for that, I've just downloaded the transporter brochure for the T6.1 (as mines a conversion) but only quickly flicked through it.
I'll have a proper read through.

Is the no way of getting a Thatcham certificate ad proof?

No idea. You could email VW UK customer services and ask, but I think in most cases any decent insurer will pop your reg number into their magic piano and the full spec will appear, as it did for me with Flux.

@Reedy_T6.1 - one of the benefits of VIP membership is that you get access to the build sheet for your van. The build sheet will confirm Thatcham security is installed (well... sort of - mine states the security system conforms to "ECE and Thatcham")

That's good to know.

I've just subscribed, Can you point me in the direction of this build sheet?

As per @Sasquatch's post, above, the insurer should already be aware - the ABI review factory-fit security systems of all vehicles as & when they come to market and this info is distributed to all UK vehicle insurers.

I thought that they'd know all of this but on the Ripe insurance website when I chose 'Factory fitted' it said something along the lines of needing to be minimum of CAT 1 due to the value of the vehicle??

 Amateurs!

I'd try speaking to a person - online systems aren't the best unless your risk is completely bog-standard.
