Fickle MPG

40mpg at 550miles/13.65galons. That is bloody good.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
On paper the 204 v 150 don't look very different in terms of economy. I'm still hoping for 30mpg:confused:
I managed 600 miles once, but that was seriously nursing it. I find in normal driving, i.e keeping up with traffic and not exceeding 70mph, I am getting 540/550 miles until 0 miles left on range.

Seems to be a massive variations. Out 150 velle averages about 30mpg on mdf. Mostly town school run. Adblue lasts 5k a tank. Regens all the bleeding time....

Methinks there are some in here that wear the Wellingtons made from lead

Perhaps at times I hoon it.

However it's an insult that my previous t5.1 84ps got 35-39mpg all day long any driving style. Even after a remap, same load, same tyres, same journey, same roads from day one at 100 delivery times to the day it got wrote off at 127k. Nothing charged. Regened about once a week as opposed or 500 miles to every 30odd litres on the t6 or 200miles.

Roll on the Euro 6, 15% more efficient they said. Bluemotion technology they said.

Fail motion technology.

Good job is an epic van and I run all the fuel through the business.

150 kombi manual with only 1.5k on the clock and I'm getting around 460 miles to a tank with about 10 or so left on the MFD. mostly motorway miles at around 75-80mph which i think is ok for the age of the car. Hopefully the engine will give a more Mpgs as it loosens up

Yeah I'm getting around 400 on a tank. I burn BP Ultimate only. Funnily enough I think I get the same MPG even when towing my 2700kg trailer as it forces me to really ease off. I'll do a proper test when I next fill up.

I find when mine shows zero miles range......I've still got about 10 litres left in it! Which is probably why my mpg on the MFD is so woefully optimistic.....there's a problem somewhere!
No, mine is the same. Can be anything between 60 to 64 litres to brim at zero range. Never know how accurate the fuel pumps are though.

One of my colleagues has just got a brand new Passat 150 tdi R design. Lovely car and even better NO ADBLUE! The car must meet Euro 6 without that awful stuff.

That's annoying, my Audi has an Adblue tank which I was surprised about since it's not even a performance car or even got that big of an engine. Is the Passat under 2litres?

Looking at this the euro 5 must be better on fuel . My 140 manual always does over 600 miles and takes about 74 l ot fill it . I have got 650 miles a couple of times . I carry all my plumbing kit and materials but the rear seats are out . I have done 12000 now and never got less than 600 miles as I always run full to empty . It could do better if I only put half a tank in each time as I can feel the power lose when I fill up. I sounds like the euro 6 are regening to often I normally only get one with every tank full the same as the wife's Vauxhall car .

My Euro 5 180 4motion Cali (pre BMT); averaged 24mpg.
Our Euro 6 204 4motion Cali; around 30.

Not changed where or how I drive. Plus it's quieter, smoother and noticeably more powerful (10.9s to 60 vs 12.4 but that doesn't consider the mid range shove which is much more).

But I'm still glad it has a four years more warranty left...

My T6 is a July 16 140bhp DSG combi, I have been really pleased with its MPG, computer says 42-44 mpg, never calculated between fill ups at the pump but always does 650miles before light comes on 50% of my miles are to and from work, no real hills and 2 miles of countryside driving followed by 8 miles in an A road at 50mph. The rest of the mileage is just your usual bombing around. Last week did a long run up to Scotland, 140 miles of motorway and 30 miles of countryside driving and then the reverse conning home and holding her at a actual 70mph on cruse (not speedo indicated) she just made an inducated 40mph and I only got 620 miles to the tank! Glad I don't have a 150 after reading the comments on here. But may be I will be considering the diesel scrapage scheme before you lot
Oh, and never noticed a regen yet after 2500 miles

Bloody hell Jay........I run mine on diesel. I've heard there's a petrol variant coming too.......but I didn't know there was a wood burning option? I expect yours has a flue as opposed to an exhaust?

Likewise, regularly get 600 miles to a tank by the time fuelling light luminates. Mixture of town and distance driving, with and without a trailer. Euro 5 180bi-tdi

150 dsg Lwb van averaging 38 at last check 20 litres adblue trip comp says 40.4

204 dsg swb kombi averaging 36 at last check 5 litres adblue trip comp says 37.7

Same journeys and load in both but the 150 has done an extra 6000 miles

No downtime for the 204 at present either, so financially it is more economical than the 150

Won't really know the long term pence per mile until they are traded for new ones and work out the whole life costs, using the projected residuals the 204 will work out cheaper at the going rate.

If we need another it will be a 204!!!!!!

Filled up both Diesel and Adblue today, got 34mpg out of the last tank, and covered 5000miles on 11 litres of AdBlue, Happy with both those for a van weighing at 2700kg minimum all day every day, approaching 10k now and getting ready for a new pair of boots on the front :(
