First oil change and dealer needs the van overnight!

I just bought and picked up my used T6 5 days ago, a 20 plate with 7000 on the clock, and they call me yesterday for a recall, Great timing. The van centre is 30 miles away so I asked if I could go to a more local one. They said they needed to keep it in house and would collect it. They also said their driver was very slow and would it be possible to keep it over night? I said no I needed it. The service indicator says I need a service in 80 days so I asked if the recall was urgent the said no so I arrange to get a service and the recall done in December. They initially said the service would be £290 as they would hook it up to the computer and do a full check. I didn't ask but why a full check would be required as it was so say done a week ago before I picked it up?

But you do have a choice.
As long as genuine parts are used you can go anywhere.
I was worried about warranty etc. Plus, I had big problems with app connect when I bought the van and they loaded a Golf's firmware onto the van to make it work - I wanted van firmware put back on which I figured only a VW dealer would be able to do.

@Deaston is it back? What did they say?
Still not back.

The promised call never came. I called in the afternoon and the recall part was the cables for the door handles. I thought that had already been done.

By the time it was done and ready to collect, I didn't have time to get there before they closed, so I am now having to do the most convoluted collection whereby I'm going to have to drive myself there today, leave my car on some random side road and then return on Sunday with my wife to collect the car.

And they've deactivated We Connect so no idea of the status/location of the van anymore. Although I did photograph the mileage when I dropped it off.

All this for an oil change I seriously considered doing myself! I dread to think how much it's going to cost...
