Welcome to the bath tub roof club @RichDavies82 you are in good company. You will find out how good a club it is, if you go to a t6 forum meet and it rains us bathtub guys, @Ed Webb included just lap up the copious amount of water a bathtub can take ;)

For those that are not aware..
California Mattress
This is available and a great addition for a poptop.
I have been using it, both as a double and a folded single. Self inflating is alittle short winded few extra puff'z needed.

For my HiLo during the day left it deflated in the roof, then obviously re-inflated at night for use.

Overall been a great addition.
I’ve been looking at the mattress mate with it being 5cm can you leave it up there and bolt the Hilo down?

Think 3cm is meant to be the limit but if it’s self inflating who knows

Deflate and leave valves at front area you might be able to.. mine will not as I have 10mm max space. I have tried to leave 10mm foam on mine and that gets squashed. But this is due to the additional mods.

What additional mods do you have fish ? As I’m getting a Hilo sport roof fitted soon and wondering what to use as a mattress , also wondering if these Vango mats are wide enough for two ?

Nothing special chaps.
But due to starlight ceiling I have lowered 10/12mm for fibre optics, USB's etc and due to the recessed Alpine monitor, 2 x HDMI's/power cable, lighting etc, the bed board is reinforced with rebated steel straps across the width.

No not much added there different to mine @Fish
Apart from the alpine monitor, fiber optics , HDMI leads etc etc , sound cool . Do you think the inflatable Matt wide enough for two people as it sounds pretty good even if it has to be deflated
