Where did you buy your rails? They seem to command a very high price!

Got mine from Ebay cost £800 they were brand new straight out of a Caravelle that had been converter for motability, I have seen them vary in price from £500 - £1200

Hi @Skyliner33

I have attached a picture of the positions and part no's of the brackets I have used (I'm not say this is correct as I have had to work it out!) the problem I had is the all 4 bolts at the tailgate end I still don't know which are the correct brackets so I just used the same brackets I used on the outer rails for now the part No I have shown with the question marks may be the correct one but I don't know it would be good to find out as I would like to fit the correct ones the light grey boxes shows which side of the cross members the brackets are on, as for fixing the brackets they do have rivets but you cant get to all the rivet holes so not all the brackets can be fixed I don't believe this is an issue its more for ease not having the brackets drop off when you take the bolts out hope this helps if anyone knows any different or has the correct bracket part No's let me know and I can update the diagram to make it easier for others in the future

I have ordered one of the brackets with the part number with the ? at the rear of the rails.
However I can not see how it will work.
It seems that the other brackets are the right ones, as suggested by the supplier I sourced the rails.

What we really need is someone with a Caravelle to take a photo of the actually brackets they have fitted in those rear positions just needs the spare wheel taken out and the plastic panel removed...

It can't be the part I ordered as it is the nut carrier, and the caravelle already has the nut. Plus neither this nut or the bolt inside the van can turn.

How did you remove the heat shield without removing the handbrake cable? Thanks

Thanks, I decided it was impossible without. Took some pics and then took it off. All under van trims are back on. No spare bolts/ washer things left over, unusually, but did find a small ball bearing on the drive just about under the bit that splits the handbrake cable!!!

Also I decided that 7H0-802-763A may bot be the correct bracket for the front of the 2 middle rails.

7H0-802-369A is not the right part for the rear of the rails. I used 7H0-803- 547A and 7H0-803- 548A but although they work I'm not convinced they are the correct parts.

Can I ask what bolts you used to fit the brackets to the chassis or are they pop rivets?

Hi guys I need help to make final decision after putting rails I need to make my mind now

Any recommendations
For putting a plywood or chipboard and also what thickness I should use it for? Any suggestions
I'm not sure what to use rubber floor or carpet thanks for any ideas

This is my next mod. Want to put 2 individual swivel captain seats in the rear with the genuine table. Van is a lwb but am I ok to just install swb rails as don't require to be able to slide the seats all the way to the rear and lwb rails are an eye watering price.

I will be removing a complete kit over the next few weeks. I will take piccys of anything specific if needs be.
All rails, carpet, 2x swivels 2nd row and the 3 seater bed. grey leather. I am doing a full camper conversion so all needs to come out.

Thanks that be great, if you are selling the rails let me know, unfortunately my front seats are black half leather.

I’d be interested in the carpet!
What colour is it fella!?
Oh swb or lwb?

I wont be splitting it guys unfortunately, its from a executive highline SWB caravelle. I will be selling the entire caravelle setup so all rear seats, bed, rails, carpet, fittings, rear ac, all pipes, headlining, ducts, dual ac front and rear lcd controllers. The whole shabang. Even the interior panels but I have carpetted them and they have a few holes, the blinds still work all round. I will be removing over the week/weekend.
If there was buyers for all the seperate parts then I would split but it would be easier to sell the lot. The money made would go straight back into the camper conversion. Anyway I will put a for sale ad up when the time comes, I dont want to hijack a thread.
If anyone needs photo's of specific factory fit bits let me know and I will take pictures while I am removing.

Would someone be able to explain the difference (in application) between single and double rails please? I’m about to embark on a Kombi to Caravelle seat mod and am confused about the various rail configurations in a Calis and Velles. There are some with two rails, four single rails and two singles & two doubles.

I’m wanting to put two mid captains seats in the cab but want to ensure I have options for the futures (perhaps a bench seat/bed).

Is @Coradia63 setup the best for most options?

The caravelle has a pair of single and a pair of double rails. The outermost pairs of slots are for both the single captains chairs in row 2 and the row 3 bench.

The innermost slots are just for the table.

It is possible to mount a single captains chair in the centre in the slots to the outside of the table slots.

Got the floor in today its the original Caravelle floor I got with the rails I need to modify it a bit and fill in the gaps where its cut for the panels fitted in the Caravelle will then need to remove the existing carpet and redo would like to source the same carpet to retrim, I also need to trim the B piller trims at the bottom to fit the raised floor planning to line the van and do the floor in the next couple of weeks yet againView attachment 8115View attachment 8116View attachment 8117 work has got in the way of my leisure time!
Hi. What’s the Caravelle seat like to sleep on. Just trying to plan my conversion and can’t decide between Caravelle and rails or a rib Altair fixed.

Anyone who knows the difference between the rails for a 2007 and 2016? Does the newest fit the oldest and the oldest fit the newest?
Partnumbers for 2007 7H5883183G 7H5883187H 7H5883188H. Partnumbers for 2016 7E5883183A 7E5883187A 7E5883188A
