hi mate got swb rails in lwb van had a 2mtr load in when triple seat furthest forward and can reach over seat into load/boot area

ok cool, thats good news. I may have found somewhere here that would do it (scania suisse) - got a meeting tomorrow am with him - it may well be eye watering price (swiss prices..) but i'll see. He wants to check the van to see if its possible (?!) and then we'll discuss..

any chance for a picture of the bench seat in the furthest fwd position anyone?

i've looked on ebay germany and have found one guy who'll do it no issues with tuv cert etc.. but he's only got short rails and doesnt do the floor..

i've kind of gone off the idea of doing it myself - i read above that the rear brackets were tricky/impossible to rivet in place? with two youngsters i need it to be easier time wise or the wife will kill me :)

cheers and thanks for the long distance help!

thanks deaky, the wife is sold after those pics - just need to see the swiss prices :) otherwise im going to have to get kernow to deliver to someone in the uk then get the rails sent over and then do it myself..

the floor i must admit worries me :)

Fitting the rails isn’t that difficult. Just need the correct tools and a bit of patience. There is a good thread on here that explains it all.

Ok got tools and the patience..! Link to thread? I thought it was this one?!

I agree with @Skyliner33 - I fitted my SWB Cali rails based on what I had read here.
The indentations in the floor indicated where the rails should mount, and I used the old (two-piece) ply floor as a template for the new one-piece.
The OEM Shuttle/ PV / Kombi mat coupled with 12mm ply makes for a suitable height to lay your carpet / vinyl.
The only grief I had was tightening up one of the bolts where it fell close to the rear nearside suspension - I couldn’t get the torque wrench in there (and couldn’t be arsed to dismantle the suspension components) so I tightened it up best I could and then got it torqued-up when I had the van in the garage next.

Oh, I remember that bolt now

I totally agree - im just up against another countries philosiophy in modifications to a vehicule.. i have to have a garage attestation that the fixations have been installed as per vw.. and if im not a garagiste then i cannot self certify!

I went to Scania this am and they made me afraid to let them loose on the van - i seemed to know more about it than they did! They want me to supply them with part numbers so that they can make up an offer for the work!!

hi mate would it not be cheaper to drive to uk and have work done over here and a holiday/break to boot:whistle:
I've thought about this and im keen - but with covid etc im not sure we can come into the country without 14 days afterwards.. im also not sure that our version of dvla would accept a uk work..even vw certified.. its a bit of a headache!

Hello again, so getting closer.. can i get some help on clearing up the difference between the different 3 seater benches that are available? what is the difference between them? I've seen some that flip back to make the bed - but this seems to my mind to be v low? would this match height wise with the multiflex board?

what do people use? sorry i know its a wee bit off thread..

apart from that, the lwb rails and swb rails - the difference is at the back as far as i can tell thats right isnt it?

if we put in swb rails in im worried that we wouldnt be able to install the multiflex board and our rear drawer system for storage..

@t6 soon ? could you put a pic like deaky's showing the back if possible?

Hi @scotia ,as far as im aware, all Caravelle seats fold flat into a bed and yes, they are designed to match up height wise with the multiflex board. I think the other 3 seater benches that youve seen are probably Kombi benches which wouldnt fit into your floor rails,if any of this is wrong,im sure someone else will correct it,hope this helps and good luck

hi, yeah the kombi bench i have, its fixed.. i was just wondering if all the sliding benches were the same - ie cali caravelle and multivan?

I think the cali ones are just a two seater except maybe the Ocean one? Cant comment on the Multivan because i dont think we get those here but i think all the Caravelle ones are the same just different materials
