Fitting refurbished steering rack issues

Hey,

New pump installed meticulously!!!! Followed every instruction to a tee....

Van is still making the noise and vibrating when turning on the spot.

Is there anything else it could be?

When it's jacked up it's quiet and smooth when steering lock to lock

Thanks

Why did you change the Hp Hose? Could it be the rack?

A new pump started all my issues off.

December 24, Leaking Pump - Fixed.
January 25, Rack started to leak post new Pump.
Feb 25, New Rack(s) and Pump(s) after my mechanic issues.
Marc 25, 3rd Pump and 2nd rack installed my me and no issues.

It got snagged on the drive belt when reversing off my drive. It was running for no more than 2 min. Steering went hard and I drove back onto the drive. The steering was faultless before. Could the loss of steering fluid damage the rack for such a brief time?

I really don’t know if it can or can’t. I just know the pumps really don’t do well if they’ve lost fluid.

I’m sure someone more qualified on here can answer that.

Thanks for the reply,

This wasn't happening before, it's only started once the hp line was replaced. Can the top mounts go bad if the van is jacked up for a few days? Thanks
Generally if you've done everything else, that's all logically left that can cause those symptoms. However, I see others are concerned the rack/pump might be damaged due to lack of fluid and that's worth investigating.

Just monitoring the steering rack, is it supposed to move even though it is bolted to the subframe? When approaching full lock, It's moves say 3 to 5mm to the side. Is that what the bushes allow for?

Thanks
