H7 Halogen Bulb Upgrade

These are the bulbs that I and many others on here have used, I didn't have any problems but there is always a possibility

Having read loads of threads on here about bulbs, lights, LED, error messages etc etc I decided that I would choose some bulbs and just try them out so today I have fitted the following just to see how they compare over the standard bulbs.

Dip - H7 Philips 12972WVUSM WhiteVision Ultra Xenon Effect Headlight Bulb, 4.200K

High Beam - H7 OSRAM COOL BLUE INTENSE H7, headlight bulb for halogen headlamps, xenon effect for white light

DRL - 7440 Twenty20 Impact Cree Led Canbus lamp 582 12v W21w

Fog lights - OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER LASER H11, next generation, +150% more brightness, halogen headlamp

Fitting was fiddly but straightforward. Already even in daylight the bulbs seem brighter especially the DRL, nice and bright now.

It will be interesting to see how they fair and how long they last.

I’m looking to change the headlight bulbs from yellow to a bright white but having trouble finding canbus free bulbs
Bought some supposedly error free off Amazon bulb the bulb light on the dash comes on
My lights seem to have h11 bulbs as the dipped headlights
Does anyone know where I can buy a plug and play bulb or will it need to be coded
Many thanks

You can't legally put LED or Xenon's in a halogen headlight as it's a legal requirement to have self levelling and projector lenses to give the correct beam pattern. You could use Osram Nightbreakers 150% brighter halogens, or replace the entire headlight units with LED units from the likes of Transporter HQ

The bulbs that are in are decent I just wanted a white as it looked better
I did fit some that worked but it brought the dash light on
Thanks for the info
I think I’ll live with these rather than new lights

These look like THQ units? Give Andy and the boys a call there who will advise.

How much to replace the standard fit bulbs with LEDs on a t6? I’m in LA and looking to get it done

drop us a call in the week and we can advise on options. You can’t just fit LED bulbs to a standard headlight.

Perfect. We have a van or two on site with the upgraded lights fitted so you can see how good they are.

Hi everyone! Please don’t bite I tried lots of searching and read wayyy too many threads but can’t seem to find the answer I kinda need.

I’ve got a T6.1 and I’m quite fine with the H7 halogens they come with, but I’m wondering if those “upgraded” halogen H7 bulbs are any good and a good improvement. Just wondering if they’re any good and how that extra “power” is going to be with heat buildup.

I don’t need to go LED as I believe they won’t project the light properly with the reflectors (please correct me if wrong), and I don’t want to go through changing the whole housing etc.

The “Philips RacingVision GT200 H7” says it’s 200% brighter (Philips RacingVision GT200 H7 | Twin Car Headlight Bulbs | PowerBulbs UK) and there are others claiming 150%.

As I’ve said I’m quite fine with the standard lights I’ve got but I’m just thinking if they’re actually a bit better (and won’t cause any heat problems or damage), “why not?”.

Thanks and appreciate any advice.

Oh and to add, I’m also fine with the stock standard colour. I’m not after the whiter kind of light look.

I’m using Osram Nightbreaker laser +150% and they are a noticeable improvement. Also getting the lights coded so dipped stay on with main beam also helps a lot (on the T6 anyway)

I think they are brighter. The trade off is basically the brighter they are, the less long they’ll last. A +200% bulb is likely rated for fewer hours than a +150% one.

Ohh right thanks guys! You’re right I read just now that the brighter ones don’t last as long.

Cool! How long have you had them for now?

Just changed the lights to H7 headlights with Osrams on the dipped beams but had nightbreakerz in the H4s previously for over a year.
