Help again - losing confidence

Hi again - touring Scotland and my second breakdown today on remote road at top of Skye. Pulled into passing place to let a car pass - strong smell of diesel and engine cut out - cranked continuously and would not restart. Diesel pouring out from under tray.
Problem found to be push fit connector next to auxillary heater popped out. Pushed back in, engine eventually restarted but fitting popped apart again.
Now I know that three years ago I fitted a night heater and fitted a push fit tee piece into existing fuel line for the supply - I can't be 100% but don't know if I touched this fitting. I've managed to get a cable tie around the defective fitting and it seems to be holding. Totally lost confidence now and not sure weather to risk continuing the holiday or limping homeIMG_20250405_114853539.jpg

I feel for you but you fixed it! Camp up at Sligachan Hotel or some thing similar with a PUB settle down with a few beers and chasers and a good meal. It might take the anxiety way and then you can relax. If their is still a problem its just the same, just a day or so later. Its a long way from home took some effort to get up their shame to let it spoil your remaining time and memories!:)

Nightmare Steve,
Your bush fix seems to be holding up.
Crack on with your holiday
Your here now and if you get more problems with it you know what it is to fix

You've fought back twice and succeeded - confidence should be maxed out! Very well played!

See it more like you are taming a horse. It'll kick you if you let it but it's missed twice and you're winning and it's spirit will be yours.

Your trip away is a success so far and it will be memorable and you'll laugh and look back fondly about it in years to come.
