Hi I'm Solow Suspension, here to help.

Hi all I’ve been running solow since 2019,we’ve just been on a trip up to stone henge, whilst in the van chilling in the evening I had a big bang like some one through a stone at the van on the front driver side, grabbed my persuasion bar,no one there, thought it must have been the van moving on the hand brake, anyway got up in the morning had a look on the front right,I thought that’s looks a bit lower than what it should be,drove of wheel in the arch, scraping like crazy,on inspection spring has snapped,I’ve done 30k on them, you think that’s right??
Welcome to UK roads.. I’m surprised any suspension lasts these days.. roads are shocking and dangerous.. great money earner for those fixing them :-/

Totally agree, nearly made it all the way home, hit a pot hole pushed the arch liner up into the wing😇

Ya had a similar experience with my old t5 on b14s on route back from Dorset and mile from home rear spring gave up.. had hit a few rough patches on the roads and thought lucky to have got away with that but they all add up and eventually broke.. reckon modern suspension is a country mile ahead of technology back in 30-40 years ago and most 80s cars would be destroyed on our roads today 😡

Yes mate have had that on previous cars when not used,I never expected that though on these, cost me a couple of quid, transporter HQ supplied and fitted
Lowering springs are more stressed than standard height springs and i guess the lower you go the more stress , Breaking springs are a huge problem in UK , Pot holes and the weather seems to get the blame from Spring manufacturers .
We sell tons of springs in my other factory in South Africa , and guess what ? no broken springs ! , i guess the weather does play a part .

Christ have South Africa even got better roads than us :-/ have had lowered van for an age and only recently has it once become a problem and def due to road conditions.. be it weather, lazy councils, no money to maintain twin, or everything made these days being crap and over priced??

Hi mate, seems that way,I’ve had lowered vehicles all my life and never had a spring go,my work van is now 20 years old be it that it’s a Renault and had that in the bump stops many times never had a problem,I shouldn’t of said that..I’ve done 30k on these solows,I’m a bit dubious about the other side, you think the near side would be more of the one to fail being closer to the drains etc,we travel France most years that’s the last thing I need,£100 a pop could do without, upgraded the van you expect it to last. Thanks for the reply bud.

Perhaps greater ambient air temperatures in southern Africa allow greater metallurgical malleability. Though I might say, 50 years of driving over arduous going at times in all sorts of vehicles with leaf-springs and coil, I have never suffered a single spring failure.
