When's the big collection day?
Picked it up yesterday and drove home 122 miles. All good so far but will start using for work next week.
Ordered a set of 19 alloys that come on the plus model and it has rear led across the back , black gloss mirrors with blind spot and folding.Only thing It doesn’t have is the arm rest but will so if it possible to add.
Due to the short notice had to fit a smart charge myself last Saturday but is all work just need smart meter fitted to change over to octopus go.
Just got my t6 to empty out and put up for sale now. will post a few photos over the weekend and report back when start carrying tools and parts next week.

We've just had the seats retrimmed and GTI side bolsters added, they are so comfortable now. Wasn't cheap but the trip to Milton Keynes and back this week was much more relaxing. Definitely recommend that as a future mod.

You could use one of the steel 18's as a full size spare, we bought one and have lashed it down in the cargo area, because of the different offsets front to rear I need to remember to carry a spacer and longer wheel bolts though. It's a straight fit on the front but probably needs to be pushed out a bit when run on the rear.

You will have to post a photo of the seats. The reason I went for the alloys was to end up with a spare wheel or 4 .
When I change them I will see how a front fits on the back as it will only be for a emergency but just need to find out if the wheel nuts are the same for steel and alloys. If not I will need to buy the correct nuts. This van is costing me a lot of money but should be worth it hopefully.
I haven’t found a good forum yet so information is hard to find as still so new.
Do you use a iPhone as I cannot work out how to move forward or back tracks when playing music with Apple CarPlay.

I'll post a pic of the seats soon, the van is filthy at the moment so I'll need to clean it up first. I was tempted to buy a set of steels with tyres that I sw on ebay at whole back for that very reason but my garage is already packed with spare car and van bits.

I'm an android phone person so can't help with apple car play, sorry.

It will be worth it once you get it how you want it. the last big bits I want to do on ours are either 20 or 21 inch wheels and some kind of Ovano type sliding draw system in the cargo area.

Haven’t used mine for work yet hoping to be ready to go Monday .I used the preheat in the vw app today just to test it and warmed up lovely in about 10 mins .Opened the door at 7 am and could feel the heat should be good on a cold morning.
Are you looking for vw buzz 20 inch wheels as the seller I have got my 19 from have a set but wait and see if mine turn up ok. I think they look the best of all but just want to keep a smooth ride.
attached photo of the style I was think of.
Just another question can you override the load area lights to stay on as cannot find a switch?

I'll be looking for aftermarket wheels like Navis or Supermetal. I contacted Supermetal back in January and they said they were looking at making wheels for the Buzz but they wouldn't be out until late 2023 or early 2024. Appreciate the heads up on the 20s though.

I've got a headlining in the rear with switched lights on the B pillar, they were put in when I had the cargo area lined. Have you tried around the rear view mirror to see if the cargo area lights can switched on or off there?

My first week with the buzz went well. Done over 500 miles from new now and loving it so far.
It’s taken the 500 miles to get my head around the infotainment unit and controls after 7 years with the t6 but all ok now.
I have it loaded with my tools and spare parts at about 300 kg and getting 3 miles to a 1 kw on the motorway with lights ,heater and raining most of the time.Only charging to 80% so showing A range of 200 miles each day.
Should be back on B roads this week so could go up if I’m lucky.
Best of all is the weight doesn’t seem To slow down the acceleration.
Going to put the t6 on eBay over the weekend if anyone is looking.
Still haven’t found a good forum for these.

Nearly had the Buzz a year so now shopping round for insurance for year 2.

So far Aplan and Brentacre have advised that the do not insure any electric vehicles (including vans). I can see this this isn't going to be fun.

Have you found/tried any companies that specialise in insurance for EVs? I haven't looked, but I'm pretty sure that will be a market niche that the insurers are looking to exploit  cater for.

Never had an issue with insuring my wife's Leaf since purchase in 2017 until this month. John Lewis Insurance declined to renew having insured for a couple of years, no issues with M&S before that. Now with Sainsbury for same price as the previous years with JL and M&S. If the Buzz gets treated as a 'van' then many of these companies may not offer a product as I found out with my Kombi. Not looking forward to renewing the Kombi in January.

Just odered my ID Buzz on the costco deal that Sable Leasing are offering. Should be with me Feb/March time. For now, I will be keeping my T6 for now and the ID Buzz will be for car duties ... will see how it goes. I've had an ID3 for 3 years so I'm lets say comfortable with owning an EV;)

In terms of insurance, I am with Direct Line now, Aviva in the cars first year and now going to Admiral for multicar policy for the ID3 and my M3 ... never had an issue with any of these insuring the ID3 so assume the ID Buzz will be the same. @CarreraRSR - Had the same issue with my T6, insurers couldn't find it on their database ... turns out, even tho its a Kombi (T32) its a classed as a van, so we had a total fart about insuring it ... in the end, I set up a new policy with Brentacre.

Anyhow, spec of the ID Buzz is pretty standard ... its the Life pro edition ... deep black pearl metallic with Venlo alloys. Pretty sure I'll remove the alloys and either fit some Velare VLR04's, LV-01's or LV02's ... I have bronze LV-01's on the T6 so might go gloss black on the ID Buzz.

Had mine 4 weeks now and just transferred insurance over from t6 with aviva. It was no extra but runs out in march so will have to see if they give a good renewal quote.
I had a phone call Saturday from dealers as it has a recall. Needs to go in for an update something to do with networking .
Was hoping they would do over air updates but it looks like they have given up with that.
Still getting 3 miles to a kw with all the tools in and a lot of motorway driving at the moment.
If anyone can help with info on how to remove headrest as I have cover to fit and they don’t just pull out like most cars do when pressing the button in.

Just added photos of a couple of things I found.
usd c socket in rear view mirror panel perfect for connecting dash cam.Powers on when van starts.
What looks like a paper clip under centre screen great for holding notes.
Also the usb c sockets next to phone holder charge really fast.

I tried the comparison sites, Direct Line, Brentacre and A plan but went with Adrian Flux in the end as I kew thew they would cover the mods, cover was £1033, 54 years old, 8k miles, based on the outskirts of Brighton, kept on the drive, 1 year bonus and no accidents, convictions etc etc. I paid £640 back in june for an SQ5 with maximum protected no claims, and same kind of annual mileage.

I've also got a T6.1 Sportline (until spring), modded, wheels, coilovers, extra windows, lined and soundproofed, that was just over £600 last month for 4k miles per annum and 2 years bonus.

WIll you lower it too or just change the alloys? It might look a bit 4 x 4 without lowering

When looking for my cargo I was thinking of getting the passenger buzz as I found a few for not a lot more money.
Done a couple of thousand miles now and as a van it’s the best thing I have driven but for a £60,000 car I’m not sure.
It needs to be a 7 seater in short wheel base . Leasing could be the safest way to go.
I can say I have been distracted a few times when making changes on the screen for safety reasons car manufacturers must start fitting old fashioned buttons and dials. I would just be very careful with children on board until you get use to it. Best idea it to get someone in the passenger seat to be a copilot.
