Immobiliser around £250

Can you recommend some immobilisers fitted for around the £250 mark .

Quite like the idea of controlling it via your phone but not a necessity.

Thanks

The only two I'd have much faith in are liable to chime in around double that, in particular the Clifford Blackjax with anti hijack.

The most effective method of immobilisation within your budget is the Disklok, which doesn't sound like what you're after.

I use Ghost 2 on my transit work van and get on really well with it. A little more than 250 but saved a good chunk off my insurance so has paid for its self over the last 2 years.

As long as its connected to.ypur Bluetooth you don't really know its there.

This sounds great , is this type of immobiliser better than the factory fitted for my highline . I’m presuming my highline 6.1 will have a factory one installed , I don’t pick it up until this Friday .

The standard immobiliser is Thatcham II and is decent, particularly with old fashioned keys. A bit more vulnerable with keyless systems (are the higher spec versions keyless?), but if the keys are suitably secure and shielded then the only way past it is key cloning - this isn't impossible but is difficult, and its unknown for dodgy dealer employees to sell the required code info on the dark Web or to take backhanders for accessing the info.

Forget Faraday pouches - been to too many jobs where the keys were one and the vehicle still vanished. Good solid biscuit or tobacco tin at the very least.

The Blackjax has true anti-hijwck, so even if they threaten the code out of you they'll only get half a mile down the road before it gradually shuts the vehicle down. Unless it's been updated since I retired in 2020 the Ghost doesn't, so is only as secure as the size of your balls if you're being held at knife point for it.

Interesting .,

So are you Saying that the factory installed immobilisers are pretty good and there is probably no need to pay £500 and install a ghost 2 .
As long as one takes precautions to stop keys being cloned .

Depending on where you are based speak with Chris @Dav-Tec, he fitted my MetaTrak S5 which has tracking and immobiliser built in plus its monitored 24/7.

Where did you get £250 fitted price from?

Most are £399 fitted from new.
