My Mini was with Carole Nash, underwritten with Ageas.I hadn't received a renewal advice from Adrian Flux with 24 days before renewal, I thought I would give them a ring. Worried having had my motorcycle insurance with them jump by 20% to a massive £150 per annum.
How surprised I was when the lady came back to me with a reduction in premium of over £150 from last year, to £560.85 for the year (8000 miles) including £48k agreed value (through Trinity Lane again). This time with Ageas not Markerstudy.
Fair to say, well happy!
I wonder how many large underwriters there are for campers? My Mini was with Carole Nash, underwritten with Ageas.
When I sold the car I bought the camper and Carole Nash wouldn't provide me with insurance for it, so I went to Adrian Flux and got a policy...underwritten with Ageas.
Have you tried Adrian Flux? They actually quoted me happier this year to the tune of £150 less. Also with Agreed Value included.Currently playing the annual game of insurance roulette. I know there are a million and one different factors that play into premiums and it's a fools game to compare my quotes with other people, but just thought I'd share some of the learnings and experiences from this time around.
- Definitely shop around - the range in prices I've been quoted for like-for-like policies is over £850. It's worth that 20 mins per phone call to potentially save hundreds of pounds.
- Excesses also vary wildly - ranging by up to £600
- Despite all the shopping around still looking at an increase of ~20-25%
- Lots of companies are adding specific endorsements such as driveway parking time, nights spent away from home property etc
- LV are no longer doing campervan insurance - or at least that's what I was told when I called
- Cheapest quotes for me (won't be for everyone but I'll use these as a start point next year): Safeguard, Caravan Guard, Comfort, Just Kampers
- Most expensive quotes for me (some ludicrously so): Gladiator, Brentacre, Lifesure, Howdens
Did you butter 'em up with one of your lemon drizzle cakes?Have you tried Adrian Flux? They actually quoted me happier this year to the tune of £150 less. Also with Agreed Value included.
I'm certain I would have got it cheaper with a lemon and lime cheesecake too!Did you butter 'em up with one of your lemon drizzle cakes?
I have - they were very much middle ground so made neither list of cheapest or most expensive quotes. Although no cake-related tactics were deployed.Have you tried Adrian Flux? They actually quoted me happier this year to the tune of £150 less. Also with Agreed Value included.

Been with Comfort since I got my van - they were competitive, had the right cover, were easy to deal with and seemed to know their onions re campers/mohos. No idea what they're like when it comes to making a claim though (and hope to keep it that way!).I was very pleasantly surprised at Comfort insurance underwritten by Aviva.
