Jacking points, trolley jacks and axle stands

I’ve tried several hockey-puck style pads between my trolley jack and the vans official jacking points, and they have all split. I currently use the rubber pad that came with my SGS jack, which seems to be holding up OK. When changing wheels (summer to winter or vice versa) I only use the jack with no axle stands. When I need to put my body under the van, I lower the van onto axle stands (with a wood block on top) positioned under suspension mounts or the front subframe.

I have ordered a trolley jack from Halfords with axle stands.
I don't know exact measurements of the trolley cradle but looking to fit a rubber puck in the cradle. A puck that has a groove for the sill jacking point to fit as not to damage the sill or paint.

I’m not the one you asked from but I’ll answer anyway.

Yes they all split, at least the ones I’ve had the joy to try. I’ve had a bunch a different manufacturer pads over the years of jacking up T4/T5/T6. Hockey puck style, slotted ones, heavy duty ones rated for 6 tons, whatnot. They all look unsafe after some use, the Transporter lifting points just cut into the rubber.

My current one since Jul 2022 is a brick style 60mm thick pad (Amazon.de) and so far it seems to be the best of the bunch. Although it doesn’t neatly fit the trolley jack cup it doesn’t seem to matter, never felt unsafe lifting with it. And no, I don’t sell those bricks.

The T6 has a square jack point... Not the silly lip.

So get a puck with or without the grove.

Buy this it works and doesn’t split but I now use a softwood sleeper (£30) and got the place I bought it to cut an angle of about 30 degrees in the middle so 2 ramps. Easy to drive up and you can see it won’t fail if you put your body underneath. Good luck

I was looking more at this with grove to fit where the factory scissor jack fits. This fitting into cradle of trolley jack. Puck

This wouldn't fit in the cradle of the Halfords trolley jack I have.

This would be better for a flat cradle. I need a Puck
which as you can see has a slot that would fit the factory lip that the factory scissor jack fits. Where exactly would you jack up the van with that brick?

I have a trolley jack with a cup style cradle as well, though not a Halfords one. Works fine.

I thought so as well but having gone through a bunch of those I haven't found one that would take the weight of Transporter front without being right out dangerous after a year or two.

Where exactly would you jack up the van with that brick?

Why, under the official jacking points of course - circled in red in post #1 of this thread. Or sometimes under the subframe if I need to get the front on jack stands. Or sometimes under the support arms when I need to get the rear on jack stands.

I just cut a short length of wood each time. It goes between the jack pad and the jacking point, gets crushed slightly and then goes on the log burner afterwards.
