..I bought some seat covers from Leather Inn. I’ve been at the van fitting them today funnily enough.

Not entirely happy with them for a couple of reasons..
@T6Plumber can I ask why you were not happy with the Leather Inn covers please?
I'm interested as seat covers are likely to be my next van related purchase and it's probably a toss up between Leather Inn and Ezee.
The former are quite a bit cheaper but that doesn't really mean sh1t if they're not much cop.

PM me if you would prefer. Cheers.

Hi mate. I’ll drop you a PM so we don’t kibosh the OP’s For Sale thread with general chat

@Ayjay @T6Plumber I’ve moved your posts here as there wasn’t a discussion thread for Leather Inn.

@Ollieavfc I’ve tagged you here too as a previous owner of these covers / skins.

Hi, Im also in the market for some seat covers and was considering Leather Inns and would be interested to know your review of them
Thanks

Hi guys sorry just noticed this.

I did send @Ayjay a PM but just in case anyone else is interested in a review on these:

I don’t feel the fit is particularly great to be honest - I’ll drop a couple of pictures in after this so you can see what I mean.

After trashing my hands & fingers pulling on them to get them as tight as I possibly can, I’m still not 100% happy with them. They’re pretty loose in some areas. And after driving over 100 miles yesterday I wouldn’t say they’re particularly comfortable either sadly. Maybe they’ll break in a bit over the next week or two, if they do & my view changes, I’ll update it here.

That said, they’re probably exactly the level of quality that they should be for this area of the spectrum in seat covers/skins of this kind. £200 on seat covers is pretty expensive in my mind, but in a market where the next level up from these are double the cost & the proper job is a full Retrim circa £1500, maybe I’m expecting too much…I need to remind myself that I’m in a work van & these are likely to be ruined in one way or another within a year, so spending more than this on such a thing doesn’t really make sense for me anyway.

It’s worth noting that the customer service at Leather Inn has been great, with assistance via videos & also offering help over the phone & also a refund if I decide to take them up on it. They have lots of happy customers & this review isn't a reflection on those guys at all.

If you’re after seat covers that’ll do the job, look okay (ish) wont break the bank & have the VW logo stitching - I think you’ll be hard pressed to find better for £200.

If like me, you’re a fussy bugger & after retrim levels of aesthetics & comfort in a seat cover, you may want to consider spending a bit more as these might not cut it for you.

They do look loose
I’ve had a look through others who have fitted them on their EBay reviews & they all look about the same. Worse in some cases. I don’t think there’s a way of getting them any better without risking ripping them to be honest…

It's such a shame isn't it?! I've got these and am absolutely blown away by them in terms of quality and long term looking goodness....!

I'll throw some pics up in due course of mine which fit absolutely perfect!

Ahh man. Im glad yours went a lot better than mine have mate!

Maybe the style/pattern of the ones that I’ve bought play a part…god knows

Are you sending them back ?
Probably not. I’ll try again on the weekend to get them a bit tighter. I’ll likely just use them until they’re done, which won’t be overly long with my day job. And then try a different brand next time. Cba with the aggro & going back to the drawing board at this point.

how long have you had them
Since about mid Feb 2024

Are they comfortable?
Superbly

You've done a really nice job of fitting them.
Thank you for the kind words! It was a ballache (as all seat skins) but worth putting the time in.

I spoke to leather inns and they can also do complete covers for the Rib bed in matching materials
As I said - a good bunch that go the extra mile and make an awesome job of everything I've seen so far!

I think post #6 in this thread has possibly either added seat covers to worn and saggy seats (it does have an impact) and have chosen a design that looks quite saggy to start with (in my opinion...)

Leather Inn have nailed it for me!

I was not overly impressed with mine when I first got them. They were an absolute pig to fit. Having a bulkhead I thought I could just loosen the bench seat and get them on by pulling it forward.....how wrong I was
As much as I dared to pull the covers about I couldn't get them to sit without wrinkles.......however 8 months later they look better and have "settled in".
Still a couple of small wrinkles but for the cost of them I don't think you can complain really.
I think the point about worn seats might well have something to do with the fit?

@bubbadubba. Thanks - that's a bit more encouraging! I think I actually prefer yours to any that are on the Leather Inn website at the moment. My favourite of those didn't have the 'diamond pattern' (or whatever it's called) but just a series of panels across - the only problem is that I don't particularly like the white stitching on the panels or the white stitched logo (there's always one, I know!)
