LED self-levelling help!

I’m not driving aired out just driving at that height in the picture above. It wasn’t a problem before the air which made me guess that it may not be connected..

do you guys know what I’m looking for under there? I’m hoping it’s just hanging off and I clip it back on..
should it be set half way up that green bit?

why would that cause the light beam to float around while driving?
Take a photo of that green bit on the rear wheel. Ok, do one of the front as well.

Excuse the pictures had to get right under. Don’t really know what I’m looking at...

OK, its a bit difficult to how the sensor is mounted on the rear from that lower pic. (didnt the flash go off?).
What system exactly have you got on? I cant see any ride height sensors for the air on either of those pics.

Can you take a pic of the front from the other side?

I’ll get some more. My phone thinks it’s to light in there for a flash to go off. Here you go got the jack and torch out

Hope that’s better it’s still all the way up and jacked up. Let me know if you need any other angles.

Ok, those pics are better.

Firstly I cant see any level sensors at all for the air? Does it adjust height by air measuring air pressure in the bags?

Secondly from memory, but I need to go out and have a look at mine, the front sensor arm seems to be already in the 'down' position. I will go look at mine, but not now as its lashing down.

It measures the pressure in the bags for this one.

they seem very “stretched” to me.. I only recognise them as I must have changed tyres more the kwik fit and wondered what they were before. Now I know.

We had a break in the weather and I was in work gear. Cheers for tour help

Just a thought if I disconnect these will they just go back to normal and just not self level? Didn’t realise how much darker it was getting when the weather is garbage.

Yes (99% sure). I will try to look at mine later.

I would have thought so.. if the levelling is out then if you disconnect it should just revert back to standard lights with a warning? I’ll try it later let you know as well.

like I said they level up when you put the ignition on then when you pull way they float upwards and when you brake the float back down.
I've been told a few Crafter's did the same and the culprit was in the actual lamp. Something was supposedly inside either broken or dislodged. As they were simply replaced under warranty there was no opportunity to disassemble them. However, none reported on Transporters.

That’s handy to know. Seems a bit suspect that after the air install now they aren’t working correctly and they were perfect before.

I just need a quick fix until I can get it properly looked at. Cheers for the help

Interesting point, when I was retrofitting the OEM LED headlights to my van I was supplied a unit with exactly this fault. The low beam projector was actually loose inside the headlamp and would bob up and down. I returned the unit for a refund.

It seems odd though that this might be the cause for @Jayjmac , I can't see why both lamps would suddenly fail like this because of air suspension.

Like you've said, I reckon try disconnecting the sensors and see if it stops the bobbing effect. You can always adjust the height of the beam manually on the headlight unit itself if it seems too high/low once the sensors are disconnected. I wouldn't drive it like that for long though, Ideally I would want the sensors to be doing their job properly.

I’ll unplug them later and see if that helps for the moment. This rain is garbage.

Top man I’ll give it a go.. currently on a sodden campsite. I don’t think I’ll be able to get them with air up and I’ve only got the jack supplied. Don’t fancy getting under there with that thing

If you air up as high as youn can and full lock you should be able to reach it. Just remember oif you unplug to waterproof the socket and plug. (unplugging just the front will stop it self levelling.)
