M6 Toll

I was 30mm lowered and went through as a car and when I go through in my works van it's a £11 plus, I always go through the same one now

Going northbound use the lane next to tag of far right and southbound use 3rd lane from left. I get through as a car every single time without fail. Must be slightly out of calibration.
I test that on my way back

I paid car rate last time I went through a couple of months ago. Cos I'm a camper, apparently.

Went through as a car last week. Has happened both times I have used it since lowering the van but was full wack before it was lowered.

That's what the lady said. Panel vans are higher rate.
So it would appear there is no consistency for any transporter, whether it is Caravelle, Kombi or Camper. Sounds like a bit of a ripoff

That is incorrect. M6Toll is not connected to DVLA and does not read your number plate. They can’t distinguish different models. It’s all done by the height measured at the centre of the front wheel. Over 1.3 mts its no longer classed as a car. Transporters are right on the cusp.

Stills makes no sense as I am 62mm lower than a standard transporter

Measured from the centre of the front wheel to where?

Well all I know is that on my way to THQ yesterday I paid the £11+ rate, and on the way back (while trying to get my head around the fact my van suddenly felt a LOT lower to the ground) I paid the £6 rate.

If it continues to be the lower rate I'll be a very happy camper (owner).:D

It measures the height of the vehicle from the floor, through the centre of the front wheel to the top of bonnet/windscreen/roof - whatever is there

Same thing happened to me doing the exact same trip to THQ... Man maths says its a mod that actually saves money
