Usually if you go to one of the APK download sites and download it from there, it will work. I've done that in the past with different apps.

This will enable you to do all the remotey stuff you like (very well too) via WiFi using an app etc. you can also use routines to turn on/off with thermostat properties (i.e. if temp is at xxC for xx mins then turn on heater)

Can you not programme your heater through the module to turn on in the morning via a date and time like a eberspacher … or does it not have that function

Yeah, there is a timer mode on them. Which works fine, but not everyone has a strict schedule and want to ping the heater into life at a moments notice.
