Needingworth Or Cambridge Campers?

Hi everybody! Been obsessed about vw buses since a young boy and finally taking the jump and getting my first one this weekend!!! Im looking at 2 in particular, both chrome yellow fully converted 19 plate with delivery miles on, both companies just a few miles inbetween so going up friday to check them both out in Cambridgeshire. Does anyone have a tips or advise on these companies please? Much appreciated

Hi go YouTube and watch my channel all about Needingworth.. all good news fyi ... Like A T6 is the channel.. Matt

I visited both and found Cambridge campers by far the most friendly and helpful. Although both outsource their conversions, I think there is more choice with Cambridge as they use different converter's. In the end I went with Knights custom conversions as I preferred an individual conversion. I've only just got my van back from conversion and there are a few issues to resolve (particularly with Reimo) but on the whole, I'm glad I went with a converter who does all the work themselves.

Great choice of colour! Our Cambridge Campervan arrived yesterday (my birthday) and we’re beyond excited. Our first Campervan too so it’ll be interesting to hear of your experiences. Good luck.View attachment 69295
That's very nice, be good to have a front-on view? Would like to see it in Full Frontal Friday

Hi Adrian, I'm thinking of using Cambridge Campers and was wondering how the van is going after a couple of years. Would you recommend them as a company? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Idris.

Hi Idris, well it’s two years in, as you say. I guess the quick answer is that if it got stolen, I’d call Cambridge Campervans straight away for a replacement. We had a few teething troubles, mostly caused by the lack of a proper handover because of covid and a newbie owner unfamiliar with basic Campervan technology. The one fault we did have (the underslung water tank shifted slightly, fouled the wheel and split) was remedied immediately. I’ve been back a few times with things that an experienced owner would know how to fix (water lock in the tap, fridge not starting) and was always welcomed, helped and sent on my way feeling good. I’d wholeheartedly recommend them.

Interestingly, it turns out we have a neighbour whose Cambridge Campervan is now about five years old. She’s still delighted with hers too.

Good luck with your choice - show me what you get if you do decide to go ahead!

It's great to hear that you'd replace it with Cambridge Campers Adrian and that they have been very responsive when there have been issues. I'll take on board your wholehearted recommendation when deciding on a conversion company. Thank you, Idris.

We loved ours too.

There were no issues at all with CC, on the contrary, they were more than helpful when it came to a minor warranty issue.

Top team
