New Pressure-Washer needed

So... On the lookout for new pressure washer. As well as cars and vans need to do significant areas of slabs concrete and tarmac. Looking online Screwfix have good deal on Erbauer EBP 3000 which is a 180bar beast. Anyone any feedback on this model. Annoyingly had my hands on it in B&Q but was 80pound more, could not price match as owned by Screwfix parent (Kingfisher group I think...)

I can highly recommend AVA pressure washers. They come with a 20-year guarantee and are, IMO, far superior to Karchers in terms of design and robustness. Mine came with snow-foam lance, but I haven't tried it yet, so can't comment on its effectiveness.

EDIT: Useful video here...
Totally agree, they are far better than a Karcher

Having second doubts about the erbauer 180 bar one. I see you can get an AVA one for 50 pound more with patio cleaner etc. The 180bar pressure appealed to me over equivalent ones ups to 150 bar. 20 year warranty is mad compared to 1 year tho. Considering I've been through around 3 karshers in last 15 years tells you something.... Pickup erbauer 3000 one on wed... May return also!

i have a Karcher K7 with all the attachments

gotta say the AVA is good quality.

but i still prefer the Karcher as a brand.

personal preference obviously

++++++++

been running the K7 for about 4years now and its not blown up yet.

Cheers @Dellmassive totally agree down to preference. The erbauer one seems to not have had many reviews as brand new.... Definitely a lump of a machine and for 319 seemed good value for money.... The fancier Karcher I have read have had issues with Bluetooth jamming and being left running on one setting, again maybe a bad one or two just. I'll sleep on it and have a think!

Bluetooth on a pressure wash FFS!! What next a WiFi toaster…oh hang on!
There’s Karcher & there’s Karcher. I have an HDS 650 diesel fired steam cleaner, well over 30 years old & still going strong. Not like the plastic lumps you buy today. The commercial variants are built like the proverbial. The “consumer” stuff is built to a price point to compete with the Screwfix specials. You pays your money & makes your choice…

Karcher k7 recently packed in! So looking for a new pressure washer… any up to date thoughts following on from this thread? Any deals that people would recommend etc?

I’ve got an Autobrite snow foam lance that fits my Karcher…would I need to buy a new lance if I moved to Kranzle / Nilfisk?

Thanks all

If you want a good quality long lasting product go for STIHL RE130. STIHL have a great service network throughout UK unlike the cheaper pressure washers that the chain shops sell.

AVA - 100% recommend their products and their after-sales service, plus Karcher attachments either fit as standard or you can get adapters (can't quite recall which).

I had a Karcher that packed in. I stripped it out and found it had eaten the insides of the pump. Replaced various bits and it is up and running again for much less than a new one.

When rebuilding it needs a special anti-foaming oil.

+1 for AVA customer service is great and comes with 10-20 year warranty and their ethos is repair not replace so they sell full suite of parts if ever needed.

Erbauer do not supply spare parts, cheap but disposable unless you are resourceful with repairs.

I also have an AVA and would highly recommend. Seems so easier setup than old karcher. Like fact hose winds in and 10m.or so long. The Karcher parts fit without any adaptors but to be honest I have everything in need with AVA. Never gonna get same results as petrol etc, but for big jobs I use my neighbours which is driven by tractor PTO shaft. Now.... That has some power!

Thanks Chris. Which AVA model do you have? Anyone know of any good offers at the moment?

I would see if it is repairable first. The K7 was one of the better Karchers and had a bronze headed pump similar to the commercial machines.
Repair price was >£200 minimum and therefore wondered if it was a good chance to get a new machine. If the parts are compatible with the AVA machines as above, then maybe I can keep some of the bits and get something new with a decent warranty!

You'll get all the attachments you need with the Evolution P60 kit.

My dad uses the floor cleaner attachment with the K7 for his patio... and there doesn't seem to be one of those supplied with the P60
