OK, so after connecting my LoRaWAN module I have nothing.
Therefore no public gateways near me sadly.
So a good friend of mine did some digging on this;
Looks like [the Victron Lora module] it only supports The Things Network out of the box (bottom of the Q&A on here VE.Direct LoRaWAN module manual [Victron Energy] (victronenergy.com)) so that makes the decision easier.
The organisation behind The Things Network provide a Indoor gateway that gives a 100-500m ish coverage (more if it’s up high, not too obstructed etc) which will be plenty for which would work fine for the van when near your house. It’s basically a Wifi to Lora bridge that looks really easy to setup: Getting_Started_TTIG.pdf (thethingsnetwork.org)
It’s the cheapest LoraWAN gateway – the other options sit at around £300+. You can buy it for £75 in the UK TTIG-868_UK | The Things Industries TTIG-868_UK, Development System Indoor Gateway 868MHz | RS Components (rs-online.com)
If you’ve not seen it there’s a map of where TTN gateways are: The Things Network (thethingsnetwork.org)
I've ordered the gateway and looking forward to not only providing a port for my own data, but a 4th public node in Milton Keynes
