Hi Iv had a fault with lambda sensor 1 Iv replaced it same fault showing So suck another on still same fault it’s saying short to ground on diagnostics any one help much appreciated

Short to ground can be caused by loss of power feed, have you checked all your fuses or measured at the plug for a voltage?

Which engine type do you have? I’ll find you a circuit diagram...

Disconect the sensor at its plug from the loom, then clear all the codes, restart engine, switch off, rescan for codes.

If you still have a STG code there is most likely a short on the loom somewhere.

If the code changes to open circuit it may be the sensor itself,...

Have you swapped the right one?.....there are a few...

Use the scanner live data to check the readings when you do a unplug it test.

Iv now found a fuse gone this makes sense as Iv had a new egr of vw a while ago and they had rooted the cable of the sensor past something warm that had rubbed/melted the cable of the old sensor only seen this after checking the old one out after fitting new one hopefully fixed now thanks
