OEM plastic underbody trim/covers

I have only ever seen these available from VW dealers. Some of the main parts are big and would not survive posting.

Sand it rough, clean, dry.
Fibreglass tape and epoxy resin, Araldite Rapid if it’s a very small repair.

anyone know the part code for the Adblue under tray for T6 4motion mine is cracked and going to give it to VW to change when I can do it my self

Your best bet is to remove it yourself, find the part number embossed on it, and get a new one.
You should be fine to drive around without it as long it isn’t too wet.

Good evening, doe’s the ad-blue tank underneath the van require a cover of some sort.
I’ve noticed on my 2017 T6 that the tank and all the wiring is exposed to the elements and it looks it should be covered with something.

There are black covers over both sides of my van, search OEM plastic underbody trim/covers , they often get ripped off going through deep water.

I’ve moved your post here, and the likely answer is in the posts above yours.
Oh and welcome to the forum!

Cheers @Grim Reaper for the pointer.

Hi Guys,

I heard a bit of a bang while driving through a puddle today. When I got home to have a look at the damage, it looks like the trim panel covering the adblue tank has smashed and half of it is missing. My question is - how safe is it to drive without it? There appears to be wires and other things that look delicate down there.

And again. Another bit of deeper water on an unclassified road. Two panels this time, one each side and £340 to get repaired (costs include fitting round heater exhausts and drains etc). These panels are fragile...

When you travel through water at speed the water displaced by your tyres is under enormous pressure. If the water is actually deep enough that your undertray is submerged then the drag acting on the undertray is huge. Water is hard and incompressible, it can be very destructive as you have found out. Keeping your speed down is the key to travelling through water.
I routinely have to drive through a ford, the water can be anything from 2 inches deep upwards, if it's deeper than about 10 inches I take a different but longer route. I just go slowly through it and have never had a problem with any of the underside protection.

Yes, a combination of speed and depth. Deeper but slower or faster but shallower. Deeper and faster doesn't work... especially for T6 fragile under trays.
I say that because of experience in similar conditions with previous vehicles. Next time however I'll not risk the wallet bashing consequences!

While doing my first driveway oil filter change at the weekend (not too hard at all) I noted that the sections of undertray that sit directly behind the front mudflaps on both and left sides of the van were rather ragged (smashed to bit frankly). These are the ones that have the heat shield bonded to them. Further back, the rest of the sections were all fine.

No idea how this might have happened (maybe hitting standing water at speed?) but, either way, I'd quite like to replace them.

Has anyone else had this issue and know of the part numbers/procedure to replace them?

Ta.

Hoping someone on here can help me! I've tried to search on the forum and found Dellmassive's image of a parts diagram but I'm not sure if the part I'm looking for is on there.
I was giving the underside of my 2016 T6 Transporter a good wash today and noticed what appears to be a missing section of undertray at the rear offside/drivers side - not sure when or how it disappeared! It would be the section above the exhaust, behind the wheel, from the side across to the the section above the spare wheel space. There don't appear to be any remaining "broken" off parts so I'm assuming an entire piece is missing. See picture...

I've been searching on-line for about an hour now and can't find any helpful info or images of parts that look lie they could be right. If I had a part number it might be easier.

Thanks in anticipation.missing undertray 2.jpg

Could it be part 27 in this diagram, although that looks like nearside (confusing!) and the proper part number isn't available in the image?Parts diagram.png

looking at mine... MY18

and looking at yours, MY-2016

you have the SHORT exhaust,

i have the LONG exhaust, . . . so i have the extra heat shield for the rear box.

is that what your talking about?

or is there a plastic black under tray you think you are missing?

whats the van spec?
