So not sure what's happened.
Van hasn't done a proper journey for about a week. Moved it off the drive to clean my wife's car earlier this week - all good!
Started fine this afternoon but reversing off the drive suddenly became clear all is not well. Engine dying and sounding rough. Any application of throttle causing revs to drop.
Managed to get it back on the drive.
No fault codes and no dash lights.
Very difficult to restart but it turns over very freely - no untoward noises when turning over.
Thought I had breakdown cover but seems not, so have taken cover out and will call Monday.
Van is a 2017 150 with roughly 56k on the clock.
Short video of it running - any ideas??

Have you checked all electrical connections including the earth strap? Could be a dodgy earth giving a bad electrical connection.
I confess I have done no checks, beyond a quick visual. Bit crestfallen about this - supposed to be camping near Goodwood this weekend.
Been a tough 5 months so licking my wounds tonight - will do what I can tomorrow but not expecting an easy fix :(

Fingers crossed for you. Strange there are no codes, but a dodgy earth wouldn’t show directly unless it tripped a module or sensor.

Jeez, that don't sound good.

Something slaping around there.

Doesn't sound like dmf.

Can you get another clip with some throttle blips.?

Now this is desperately embarrassing....
In the back of my head I was wondering whether I could possibly have mis-fuelled it. Since I last put fuel in it I have only driven it back from the fuel station and moved it off and back on the drive - all fine.
Hunted for the last fuel receipt this morning and.... I put unleaded in it.
God knows how I managed this. I've wondered how others could manage to do this, now I know.
Just hoping I haven't done any permanent damage. :(

It will be fine just don’t run it anymore, get as much fuel as you can out of the tank and get diesel in there
There’s quite a few misfueling companies dotted around the UK that will come to you and drain the tank, it’s quite expensive for what it is but it gets the situation dealt with and the van back on the road

Oh no! Easily done, and fair play for owning up! Hope you get it drained/cleaned/filter changed/checked/refuelled and it’s OK!

Agreed, the only thing I'd add is if it were my van I'd be inclined to change the fuel filter before starting the engine too, because the fuel filter is obviously full of petrol.

Done this my self many moons ago on a old Astra van realised at about £20 stopped and spoke to a garage quickly they advised me to brim to to the top with diesel and should be ok as diesel is thicker lucky enough all was fine. As said above get as much out as you can and refill with diesel all should be ok.
As @DaveD said I would also be inclined to change filter

I did this on a brand new vito.......as above filled to the brim with diesel and no harm done.

Feeling incredibly stupid - must have sleep walked through this.
Anyway, very nice man from Fuel Fixer is currently on the drive 'sorting' the issue - expensive but it's dealt with, and I don't have 50 litres or so of contaminated fuel to dispose of.
Did wonder if I should change the engine oil as it might be contaminated but he says no. Also says don't bother with the fuel filter either.
Apparently he is seeing a lot of problems with adblue in fuel tanks - which apparently is very very problematic due to the water content.
Might give it a piece of mind engine oil and filter change next week.
At least my trip to Goodwood should be back on....

Not the first person to do that mate & definitely won’t be the last. At least there’s nothing wrong with the van per se.

Alls well that ends well!!

You may have something important or concerning gnawing away in the recesses of your mind. It can happen to anyone. I will bet though you will for ever be deliberating every time you refuel any vehicle, have you made the correct choice and rechecking each and every time. Years and years ago perhaps not a massive issue just drain and refuel. In fact some commercials put a little petrol in the diesel mid winter. I seem to recall that my UNIMOG handbook said something similar. We all know that petrol and paraffin are very similar, the older Petrol Massey Ferguson Tractors often started on Petrol and once up to about 70deg temp one just switched over supply at the carburettor to Paraffin or TVO Tractor Vaporising OIL a posh derivative of paraffin with a few additives I guess that you are going to be OK. :)

I used to work at a ford main agent years ago and we regularly used to have the delivery guys fill customers new cars up with the wrong fuel while they were meant to be on their way to deliver them. 🙈

I was doing a really nice thing last year. Met the mrs for lunch. Feeling very pleased with myself for doing something nice. Once lunch over. She said she needs to get fuel in her work vehicle. I’ll help and do if for you I heard myself say. £25 quid in. Yep the petrol is in the tank. I realised what I did. And pushed the van out of the way. Called the fuel guys. Almost £400 later and the £25 of petrol out of pocket. Oh and the lunch. And boy I have not heard the last of it since: but when she scuffed the wheels on the A6 there’s me saying it’s ok accidents happen. Not so lucky when I make a mistake.
