Oil Temperature

What’s a normal temperature
2ltr diesel
oil temperature always seems high to me but I don’t know what is normal or is this a normal expected temperature.
on a Run out today it was around 100 degrees which it normally is and had a recent trip in Yorkshire dales up steep hills etc and got up to 108 briefly during that but expect that was due to the terrain briefly
Today it was between 100 and went to 103 for a short time

Is this normal, just sounds high. I know it not winter and warm but still ?

Perfectly normal. You want it around 100deg to boil out any water condensation.

Mine (150ps manual SWB T30 Kombi) runs at 100 usually, up to 109ish if going uphill on a main road or mountain roads. So yours sounds bang on

Just finished a trip through northern Australia. 2019 4motion. Days were 39.5c.
Often the engine oil would get to around 120c for extended periods. Was driving hard for 6+ hours often on gravel roads. Highest I saw was 124c just near the end of our 15,000km trip. Coolant stayed at 90c whole trip
Service scheduled for next week.

I remarked on coolant temp before as mine went from 90deg to stop/overheat without warning. I tested when back home using Carista live data annd the coolant temp was showing something like 70 degrees- gauge was 90.
Apparently the coolant temperature gauges aren’t true gauges - they are fudged to stay at 90 as long as they are within a specific band.
So unlike the oil temp digital readout that seems live and my Carista data agrees with the coolant temp is almost useless. May as well not have the numbers and just have bands with cold/at temp/hot… it would be more useful like that if we can’t be trusted with just seeing the true facts.

Recently bought a low mileage T6/32 LWB 150 Manual (Campervan), and on a recent good run to the coast the oil temp went to a steady 100, so good to know this is normal. Be interesting to see what it shows when we get more hot weather next year.....

It'll always be around the 100C mark +/- 10 deg. We ski in the Alps in winter & visit southern europe in early summer. The ambient temps range from -20 to +40 C, and the oil temp is always around 100C.
