One Piece Ceiling?...

More interestingly once you get your big fcuk off piece of ply and convert it to a one piece roof panel, do a nice thread so I can copy you! :D

Speak to custom shop designs I'm sure the would be able to help or advise you
I bought ply from them before. Had to return several pieces and the ply ceiling was shocking.
Lots of others on here had problems with them.

Evening all.
I am just about to order a few sheets of plywood to begin making my interior panels. I can source 8' x 4' (2440 x 1220mm) sheets in both 3.6mm and 5.5mm for a very good price from a local woodyard. These will cover all of the side panels but I was hoping to find sheets large enough to do the ceiling in one piece.
By my measurement the existing ceiling panel is 1320 by 2556 mm (to the front join) so even the 2440 x 1220 sheet would need three pieces.
I recall someone on here finding a supplier for larger sheets and wondered if anyone can help please?

Sorry to dig up an old thread. I just bought a lovely large sheet of 5.5mm ply to make my roof. Made my template out of the old 2 part roof etc.
Placed it over said 'large ply'.
Large ply to small. I. Any believe I didn't measure.

So.....can yih find a large enough ply sheet anywhere in south wales?

Any ideas?

What size was the said large sheet

I fixed main roof with screws that go into a plastic bit that pops into the OEM holes.
For the packer it’s either 10 or 12mm. Enough to stick LEDs to. 3DF7AD33-E545-4C7A-88EE-9B138D60F5E9.jpeg

I'm sold on that idea.
How did you fix the roof main panel and surrounds up please? Also what size packer did you use?

It's looking great
Much like others (I assume) I bonded in the original fasteners with no panels fitted then screwed into them.
6mm main panel (8x4') then 12mm for the spacer and top ring. I covered the centre panel in Suedeliner from Harrisons. For the sides I used left over carpet but it was MVM Mega stretch in smoke. I wired up the lights prior to installing the roof and slid them through their mounting holes with little slot to fit the flanges through. Nothing can be seen post the final carpeting which was wrapped around the outer ring and trimmed flush with a blade.

Thanks everyone. Super helpful as always.
Hopefully I can return some wisdom down the line....but I wouldn't hold your breath! I'm learning off you lot!
