Only 25kms Driving In France - So Do I Really Need.....???

Remember that high vis vests need to be accessible so you can put them on before getting out of the vehicle - so not in the boot.

There are also low emission zones that you need to apply for now as well - not needed for hopping into Belgium, but not a lot of people know about these.

We supply a full kit to comply with the laws with everyone of our vehicles going abroad

Good point!

Yes getting a CritAir and German TUV SUD emissions stickers is the first thing I do when I get a new vehicle, one off and supplied quickly and cheaply if you go direct to the respective countries official sitesIMG_2807.JPG

I've got French and German stickers on the two of our cars that will be driven in Europe. They were both very easy to acquire but I'm beginning to wonder if that will still be the case in the era of Mr Johnsons post Brexit paradise. Sorry if that's getting too political!

Stickers, passes whatever. The point that I was making is that you don't need anything physical like you do in France and Germany.

Emissions windscreen sticker for Germany, don't get caught out paying silly money for one. Buy it on line from the Berlin authority website for €6.00.

Same goes for the Belgian scheme. As mentioned above, you don't actually need to do anything other than register your vehicle for the scheme but there are some firms out there who sell unofficial stickers / passes. The official scheme is gratis or, at least was when I registered. At the moment, I think it only covers Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp.

For Germany you MUST display the umweltplakette in your windscreen (in the correct location) or risk a fine if you are driving within a restricted zone.

A really useful app is green-zones and this shows where all the zones are across Europe. All the links for the badges and registrations are there, but they are a little more expensive then going direct to the government sites. Once you have your badges/registrations, you can add them to the app and it will show where you can go or not. It also gives indications of the air quality
