I have a personal plate on mine. I bought it years ago as I had a Jap import car and a standard plate wouldn’t fit in the recess. So bought the plate with less characters so they didn’t have to be quite as undersized to fit.

What amazes me on here, is how many people cheapen the look of a pretty expensive vehicle with a mis-spaced number plate that tries to read as something else.

We all know that before numbers became readily available in 1990ish? The fewer the digits the more expensive they were and the smarter they looked. It's an opinion I know, but I have 4 plates, all are single digit prefix plates with our initials on. They cost very little and we'll have them for ever, regardless of what vehicle they are on.

So whats the opinion on a 5 digit prefix plate pressed onto a shorter plate 400mm long?? Short plate or standard length?

I bought this a while back, haven't built up the courage to put it on the van yet. Spacing legalities aside, can't decide whether it's a bit naff or not?

Go on put it on ....you can go the whole hog and make something out Of T6 @@@ from what’s on dvla web site but unless you’ve got a really weird name....( sorry if you have ) nothing of interest is available....but that looks original and cool ...I went the other way cheap as chips MY 2018. Now reads as this

I’d go standard.....I’ve seen short plates on some cars and it looks like there trying to hide it...if you’ve got a personal number you’ve put effort into buying it...be proud and display it in its full glory ..have you thought about the German license plate holders

When I first got my van I spent ages trying to find a T6 plate with my initials, or my business initials etc but they’d all been snapped up.

But having read this thread today I was quite surprised to find this plate on sale, assumed it would have been snapped up ages ago.

It was only £650ish with all the paperwork completed for me.

We have just bought an 04 plate with the wife’s and my initials (04 was the year we got married). I was thinking that maybe I’ll get a plate with the first 2 letters (wife’s initials) separated from the numbers. Lots of people on here seem to have moved the numbers/letters around so I was wondering whether anyone had had any bother with the plod after doing it?

Also, I guess they are bought as show plates?

Was originally looking for T6 CGT but not available:(

These are the shortlist of the options we were looking at. I wonder, does anyone recognise any of these? ;)
