Just a point perhaps worth mentioning, these individual panels are both heavy and have very sharp corners especially where the slots are cut. We used a strong plastic bag and the bottom was ripped within days so please consider some strengthening along the bottom in the corners.
Hope this helps.
A little light filing required?

Ah, almost like the bag needs an inner side wall of stronger plastic. How thick are the four sides when packed? I’m just wondering if something like pipe lagging would help.
I used to ship pits with pipe lagging around them. So for storage and carrying them, yes it would help.

yeah thank you @Nigel W definitely a consideration we have had with these. the bags will be reinforced with double (and perhaps triple) layer fabric on the bottom part to help with this.

@Trouts is waiting for me to send him one to check dimensions and the strengthbility.
If @Trouts wants to gain interest first by showing his creation then thats great. Start gathering some numbers.

hey gents,
nothing physical to show just yet. (still) waiting for the 2nd sample to arrive - hopefully this will be the finished version (or close as it can be) then i can get some costs and a final price AND some photo's up.

hopefully the drawing in post #138 will be enough to give whet peoples appetite atm

Unfortunately these are really sharp corners and I don’t think filing would really help

I’ve just sorted mine out, I mounted a belt sander in a Work Mate bench and then just ran each corner over it, far easier to control the metal using two hands with the sander held steady. It sands off the corners surprisingly easily and I have no more sharp edges on the corners. I was particularly concerned about people brushing past the fire pit and cutting their legs when there was no fire in it.

You can obviously round the corner off as much as you want but I just did enough to take the sharp edge off so the fire pit looks the same.
