Mine has arrived this morning and it’s superb! They have done a different picture on each of the four sides but this is my favourite and on the scales it is 1st 4lbs (that gives my age away!).
if anyone is wondering if they should get one I would heartily recommend they do.

What size is this? Also stainless or normal steel?

I'd love one exactly like this whats the difference between stainless and non?

Thank You

Looks perfect but it’s JUST too small.

Dam that’s a shame! ☹

Mild steel will need painting in heat proof paint. Or BBQ paint.

stainless won’t rust.
If you keep on top of cleaning them out after each use, they’ll look a lot better.

Ours arrived today, lovely quality and the family were quite wowed with it.

Some of the corners are a bit sharp so I can imagine someone scraping their legs on it, or it tearing stuff in the van while packed to the rafters for camping. Presumably I can just rub the corners down with a bit of sandpaper?

you need a special, tailor made bag for that ;)

This is my solution for transport and storage for my firepit . . (i forgot to update my previous post with it.)

Ducksback Heavy Duty Medium Storage Bag for Caravans and Motorhomes

Its 30 x 30 x 17cm and is a perfect size for the Pit + extras, gloves and chip pan cage in my case.

I love the Ducksback gear and have around 10 of their bags . . .

i use them for flag poles, windbreaks, portaloo, cable reels etc etc etc etc etc ,

i even use then for work and keep my cable rods in them . . . (the windbreak version of the bag)

anyway - this one is a generic Heavy Duty Medium bag..

I've got the VCOOL T6 logoed version. : Amazon.co.uk : vcool

Vcool T6/T5 is just a branding from Ducksback (same bag different screen print) (they swerved the VW copyright brilliantly)

Today is an exciting day . . . . . . the first Sunny day of 2021 (for us) :mexican wave:

as well as that, we have a new addition to the family . . . .

Well, the fire pit that family that is . . . . Phew ! :grin bounce:

We loved the smaller version so much we got the larger version too . . . . . a Big Thank You to @evans1089 for sorting it out for us.

This is what we have. . . . . .

New Large VS existing small version. . .

1614347172479.png

layed out we have this . . . small vs large

1614347201052.png

not sure on the exact increase in size . . . . but its not too big, not too small, . . . . . its just right. =]

this time we went for the basic "T6 / Camper" version . .

putting it together you get a better idea of the size . . . You can see our small one has had a hammering all over winter, , , its been left outside in the snow and rain - and its still perfect. =] (ill give it a wipe over and another coat of paint before the camping season starts)

1614347320285.png1614347340702.png

its difficult to imagine the size from a pic`, so as a reference here is a "trusty old builders bucket" . . . .

.

luckily enough i had one can of this High Temp Black paint left : Black Heat Resistant Matt Black Spray Paint Stove High Temperature 400ml (3 Spray Cans): Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools

And the trigger . . . : Spraycraft Spray Can Trigger Grip Handle, Black, Fits All Standard: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

So its paint time

1614347468331.png

i basically done the whole tin of paint on it . . .

last time i laid out all the panels separately and done each side . . then waited to dry, before doing the other side . . . It took ages

1614347601013.png

This time i just built the Fire pit up (without the top lid) and give it a good spray.

then when dry, turned it upside down and sprayed the under side . . and done the lid at the same time . . .

End result:

...

The paint is all gone now so ill have to get some more - for the second coat and future touch-ups.

Next Problem is a carry / storage bag !!

but i think i might have that sussed with the DucksBack Heavy Duty Large Bag i have,

the bag it a lot bigger than the pit . . . . . but that might not be an issue.

ill test it and see. . . and will let you know.
