Petrol vs Diesel

I have a T6 Transporter that I don't really know its value.

My local VW garage where I bought it 7 years ago are not telling me a number but has said they will match WeBuyAnyVan, which I know is nowhere near what it is worth. It is Petrol and I had this before the DVLA had theirs for the UK so I know it was the first in the country and VW told me they never sold another in the UK after so it must be rare (if that even matters)

Similar spec and mileage vans but in diesel they go for around £20-25k on AutoTrader. Details are:

VW T6 Transporter

Long Wheel Base

Automatic Gearbox

2.0l Petrol

Mileage is 74,223

Full Service History

MOT valid until December 2025

7-speed gearbox

1 Owner

Air Conditioning

Front and rear parking sensors

L4V Hook Locks fitted for extra security

Flashing beacon lights currently fitted

Sad to see it go but no need for it anymore.

I’d love to turn it into a camper but do not have the time, money or space.

Not quite sure what this means, but quite a few TSI transporters were sold, one or 2 members on here have them. It’s a niche vehicle and should fetch good money from the right buyer.

PS, you’ll need VIP membership to sell it on the forum.

As above, they're not common but there are a few about;

I bought 2 (1x Kombi and 1x panel van), 7 years ago, and the Kombi version we got straight away and this panel van we had to wait about 2 months for even though it was in the showroom as the DVLA still did not have one to test on UK roads.
Now I take it with a pinch of salt, but the VW garage told me there wasn't another Transporter of this spec sold after mine in the UK so it is the only one in the country of this age, but this must just mean the class of vehicle is different to Kombi? I've always been confused about it.

Just to be clear, both vans we bought were identical except this one had 3 van seats and the other had 5 seats and 1 extra door.

I think you’ve been fed some Dealer BS tbh. Afaik the DVLA doesn’t test vehicles, that’s a complete new one to me. At the time, the van would have come under EU regulations and would be type approved for use throughout the EU without any further testing. DVLA testing vehicles….nah!

If your talking about the 67 reg panel van being a petrol van and none being made after it mine was made and purchased after yours in 2018
I think someone's winding up up

We all know there are tsi about getting rarer by the minute.
Is it the spec perhaps?
Lwb
Highline
Colour
LED headlights
Dsg
I don’t know what spec they came in?

It does look used bodywork wise I would say around the 20k mark to the right buyer

Ab

I normally average about 400 miles to a full tank, this is a mix of motorway and city driving.
I get about the same between fill ups, 400 miles and calculate each time at 26 mpg. Mines a 2018, rare but they are about. I think they removed them from the range in 2019 due to requiring the 2.0 L engines for the more saleable cars with the same engine.
Love mine to bits !! Ace vehicle, no adblue & no dpf issues !
