Thanks guys. I’ve found them now but bloody hell!!! You’ve got to be a contortionist to get to them and the wiring is so tight. I’m going to try getting the bcm out to see if is easier when it drops down

It does make it slightly easier and carefully cut the ties on them but they are still tight to do!!!!!
Good luck

It's indeed that, telling your car that you have a tow bar and that it might need to adapt stuff the moment something is attached. Think lights etc. will work even without.

But just know that the coding itself is not too difficult. It's just ticking a box, and then go to the right bit of coding, and change some long coding, with the last VCDS software you just have to tick one or two boxes (can look up what exactly I had to do). If you don't have vcds, I'm pretty sure there's somebody not too far from you who will give you a hand.

If you do it, you know that everything that's there is actually 'rightly connected' (my autistic side likes to have stuff like that done :p). Also, if you then ever decide to add a towbar, everything is in place.
Hi Sippe, does that mean you can do all the connections but not do the VCDS and it will operate the lights etc but just won’t adapt the other settings - reverse sensors for lights etc?

That’s what mine does at the moment. All trailerboard lights work fine. When I select reverse, the parking sensors beep continuously as they detect whatever is fitted (easy enough to to mute on the screen), and the rear camera activates, which can still see a bit if all I have on the rear is a cycle carrier.

Fitted the same wiring kit, all ok, but Can't be sure of the location of the grommet to access the bulkhead, to run the stop light and can bus wires

It’s in the windscreen scuttle with access via the small removable panel on the drivers side in the engine bay, be careful not to drop the bolts they are a bugger to find in the engine bay.

Dave do I need to remove wiper blades and plastic trim or is it below behind the insulation?

Hi
I’ll be installing a towbar on a 21 plate transporter tomorrow, it doesn’t have trailer prep so I have a kit from pf jones coming.
Any advice best routing to go from back to front?
I see it gives options when it comes down near pedals. How do I know which one I should do?

So I fitted as stated, all seems to work other than my radar coming up at fault on dash. Is this something because battery was disconnected?

I’ve fitted same kit to mine. I’m having trouble finding anyone who can code it. Even been to vw dealer and they won’t touch it because it’s a aftermarket loom.
All the wiring seems to work however I have the front radar not working and has a warning light.
Can someone tell what dia machine they have used to code the kit. Vans a 2021 non prep so I fitted complete kit.

Hi all,
Appologies is this has already been covered but has anyone fitted the PF jones 13pin tow bar wiring loom and how did they do it? Reading up on here people say to take it under the passenger seat to the fuse box then on to the BCM but the instructions say to take it up to the main battery and install a 2nd fuse box included in the kit there. It doesn't show it being connected to the body work either which I read should be done.
Its the PF jones specific kit for models 11/19 onwards. Im beginning to wonder if they have changed it slightly from the T6 kit. Having a look at the westfalia kit that also shows it going under the seat but I wonder if thats the T6 not the T6.1 kit also.
So far have rodded the cables above the fuel tank and up into the engine bay.

Any advice appreciated as I seem to be reading different things each time.

Thanks George

Looks the same as ECS kit. I had a permanent 12v of decent guage under passenger seat so installed my 3 x fuses there in original VW fuse holder. I then pulled can connections under carpet to drivers footwell area before taking up to BCM.

Hi All, so all the electrics are done but for the life of me i cant find where to get the PF-Jones Canbus Cables into the cab.

Apparently they are below the brake Master Cylinder, for the life of me i cant find the bung its refering to.
Had a bit of a search and it seems that this is the hardest bit, i dont suppose anyone has a photo of where this gromet is or how they ran the canbus cables from the module next to the battery, across the engine bay and into the cab?

Van is a 205 4motion if that makes any odds?

Cheers,
