Poptop - trim canvas before carpeting

Mine was supplier fitted. I think it had a metal strip trapping the fabric down, and the fabric was trimmed tight to it.

The supplier recommended I trim the side flashings separately- unscrew the beam, and trim the walls behind. Then trim the beam to get a crisp finish, and also trap carpet underneath it to prevent squeaks.

Thank you. Apparently, the fitter suggested that storm recommend leaving alittle of the canvas incase it needs future adjustment.

The idea of removing all the sides scars me as there are a million screws

We leave one inch of canvas after the fixing trim.
We glue this down with spray glue then cut.
Obviously make sure ypur happy with everything before doing so

Cheers. I'll probably go get some sealer and fill it and smooth it out .
Any brand suggestions for the sealer?

Yes all holes not being used should be taped over to stop the dust stains from forming in years to come.
