Price of diesel in your area?

I suppose It only works instantly on the garages with highest turnover of fuel, the quicker it’s used up the quicker they can buy next batch with the lower duty. We all hold back waiting for the drop and so the garages then take longer to replace.

So garages buy in bulk so the duty cut will not affect them until they next buy a delivery, I get that, however what isn’t clear is why their prices rise almost daily when they haven’t yet been affected by any rise in the price of oil - the conclusion is they are thieving c***s who profiteer at he drop of a hat. I will never buy anything else from the garages, not even one of their £2.50 packets of haribo that the local corner shop charges £1 for - rant over

Seems to go up quickly enough though doesn’t it. There were reports about the Brent crude price reaching a 14 year high (it did then go higher) but at that point the retail price was much higher than it was at the that last peak. The prices go up quick but will never come down again. But it’s ok because the fuel companies will invest all the money they make into renewables (apparently).

I think we should spare a thought for all those billionaires out there who will be suffering too; it must be costing them hundreds of pounds more now to fill up their superyachts / private jets, not just a few pounds per tankfull...

Or make further donations to political parties and / or pay larger dividends to shareholders some of whom also happen to make donations to political parties.,

^^^ That makes my £108 fill up the other day look like a bargain. I don't feel so bad now. £170.9 per litre from Asda in Hereford.

Interesting to the see the start of this thread complaining of the fuel hikes, which now a year on seem cheap! It's OK Shell only made 7billion profit in this quarter alone...

I remember not too long ago when the haulage industry and public protested and strike when fuel prices hit £1. Think people have had the P taken out of them the last 2yrs

@Ploots. That increase for 'normal' diesel tallies with that at my local gas station a few miles south down the A38 from you. £1.80 when I went out yesterday morning and £1.83 on the way home a couple of hours later. Annoyingly, unleaded was £1.60 - what's going on there?

I paid £195.9 for BP ultimate diesel today in Royal Wooten Basset - the van felt a bit rough after filling up at a sainsburys so thought I would run some premium through it, felt much better but could all be in the mind, anyway can’t afford to eat now till august
