The load ratings are.. (grabbed from Are These Wheels Suitable )

T26 = 750KG -> Min Tyre Load Index 98
T28 = 800KG -> Min Tyre Load Index 100
T30 = 805KG -> Min Tyre Load Index 101
T32 = 860KG -> Min Tyre Load Index 103

Load indices from Tyre load index ratings explained and Tyre load index chart

So load rating is just fine. Your new tyre is about the same size in diameter as regular OEM tyre (205/65-16?), so no problems there either.

Had a screw in the shoulder of the NSF tyre (vanco conti`s) which i repaired myself with the tyre knots couple of months ago.

it started leaking the other day and tyre shop wouldn't repair it. . . . . (no repairs on shoulder/side wall) =[

so new tyre needed . . .

vanco conti £179 !!
mid range tyre £ 120 !!
Budget £89 !!

thats about £100 more for these 18" rims compared to the old T5.1 17" rims.

so went for the budget . . . .

anyone had these before?

I’ve got accelera on my van. Not sure if it’s the same model but I’ve been happy with them. They were recommended by the company who did all the work to my van.

Are you sure this is correct? My T30 has a rear axel weight (from the sticker in the engine bay) of 1625kg.
Divide that by 2 gives 812.5kg. Wouldn't I need tyres with a higher load index than 101?
Or is there a flaw in my reasoning?
I stand corrected. Thanks for the correction. Good catch. Missed obviously the correction further down in the reference thread :(. Apologies.
However, the load rating 101 equals to load up to 825kg, so that still would be sufficient for you.

Suprisingly even the 1625kg doesn't seem to be the final truth for the T30. Just checked records of a few T30's and just realized that a T30 4Motion LWB DSG (150 and 204PS) has max front axle weight of 1680kg (the rear 1625kg) thus actually requiring load rating of 102. So it seems that there is really no other way than check each one individually from sticker or paperwork.
EDIT: DSG.
EDIT_2: LWB.
EDIT_3: Possibly Finnish only configuration, see other thread Benifits Of Genuine Sportline Wheels)

Thanks for clearing that up. No need to apologise though, and good to know I still need 101 tyres. :)

a 101 tyre rating is 825kg
a 103 tyre rating is 875kg

so 101 is OK for a T30 under normal use, not sure what the table is showing?

That's interesting, regrading the axel loads for a T30 4mo, I got confused on this forum the other day regarding axel loading and a 101 tyre. I always thought a 101 was undersized for my Vel 4mo.

I need some 255/45/18 103 tyres for my T32 (new wheels are being delivered tomorrow)

Looking for summer tyres that will last more than 10k miles, what tyres would be recommended to last 20k+

Goodyear eagle f1’s are great summer tyres and will last much longer than 10k, lots of people on gear have been using the nexen suv as well.
@Tourershine is your man think he runs the nexens.

I run 255/45/19s
I've ran Eagle F1s and Continental Sport 6, both ultra grippy with my suspension setup, both got around 10k per set once I worked out the best pressure, which I think is slightly different for each set up.

I did run Nexen SU1 and although they didn't have the overall grip of the premium brands, they did do far more miles.
Currently running full winters and to be honest it's going to take quite a tyre to top these winters.

I've fitted mid-range budget,

this was the last ones, . . . ill dig out the details on others.

255/45/18/103W Accerra tyre £82 each, fitted

Thanks for the advice, I’ll be coming from 19’s myself where a set of uniroyal rain sports barely managed 8k, now on a cheaper Chinese tyre which looks like getting 12k per set. I can’t tell much difference in the drive between the two brands either!

I’m going onto 18 inch steels, is 20k realistic from a set of tyres?...

If I’m only likely to see a similar mileage on 18’s I’ll probably stick with the same Chinese brand I have now.

I’d also be curious to know what tyres VW would fit to a new set of sport lines as they’re the same size.
