Another happy customer of Steve and the team at CRS. Full definition kit on our T32 camper. The ride was my priority but I am absolutely taken with the look too now I’ve stuck the 18s on it. Ride wise it is most noticeable on the slow, urban roads and bendy, wiggly B roads, which is where it needed treatment the most. Much more car like. To be fair, on a stretch of motorway or decent A road I though it was rather comfortable before really, but the dog really didn’t like being on the back seat on the back roads where it behaved a bit like a boat at sea before.

looks awesome big fan of the wheel tyre combo, how far down is it?

So finally I got to go down and get my van in to CRS for much needed new setup.
My van is EX AA and not great to drive, cornering was wasn’t the best and ride not great, as Steve explained the springs on the ex AA vans are basically solid.
Spoke to Steve a fair few times on what to go for as wanted it dropping around 60-70mm and get comfort. Had the H&R coil over kit fitted with a 70mm drop.
The drive up too South Yorkshire was so much nicer, corners so much better and sits so nice. Like driving a car.
Would definitely recommend, plenty there today agree on what I’ve said.
Top work.

You often read reviews and wonder how the companies manage to only get positive feedback.

Well, in the case of @CRS Performance, it's fully deserved. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but comfort was the main thing I was looking for. On the basis of the forum feedback, I rang Steve, who was more than happy to listen to what I wanted from the van, and made recommendations.

Duly booked in for today, and the van was straight on the lift and work commenced. Steve was straight on kettle duties too.

The lads worked very efficiently, and it's very pleasant that nothing is hidden away from you whilst they do so. In fact, had he wished to do so, Steve could have sold me more bits, but his opinion was that for my desired end result, I didn't need them.

I've ended up with a van that looks better, and drives better. I noticed the difference on the test drive with Steve Jr. before I'd even got out of the estate. The drive home was the confirmation that I'd made the right choice.

Anyone wanting straightforward advice and amazing customer service, phone Steve.

So, I've had my ST coilovers fitted from @CRS Performance now for nearly 2 years, a while back it was noticed the offside rear shock seemed to be 'misting' I initially spoke to Steve who advised to clean off and monitor to ensure this was actually the source of the dampness seen. I followed Steve's advice and it did show that the shock had an issue, to ensure it was dealt with correctly and Steve could see the issue in person i made the 240 mile round trip yesterday - fitted in at short notice, the suspension was inspected and agreed that the shock had a defect although still fully functional (the fault a first for the team), it was changed there and then for a new one with no issues which is exactly why I chose CRS in the first place following all the reviews I had seen.

The guys then checked the height of the van, adjusting the fronts down a little further at my request, then into their new alignment facility to check all was aligned correctly - it had been done previous by a local 4 wheel alignment centre but as CRS are go to specialists I thought it was a good idea to ensure all was good.

The alignment to be fair was in specification however the CRS team made a few tweaks to being the toe to matching figures each side - this is the service that is the reason why i don't mind travelling the distance, it clearly shows their dedication to achieving the finer detail

Thanks to all the team at CRS it is much appreciated, top quality friendly service

All that and no bill ?? ha ha . Nice to see you again .

Huge thanks to Steve @CRS Performance . I had a broken rear lowering spring that had been supplied to my van's previous owner back in January 2023 and was fitted by VanCave.

I was in a huge rush as we're heading for Europe today and when I spoke to Steve on Wednesday he shipped out a replacement spring, free of charge, with no questions asked and no fuss. Amazing customer service, particularly as I wasn't the original customer.

I got the spring fitted by my local independent VW guys this morning and all good for the trip.

Thanks again Steve!

We do believe that customer service doesn't end the day we supply parts to a client , we also believe that going the extra mile doesn't cost money and it reaps benefits as this review is testament to .!!
We do have the best after sales service in the industry and will protect that reputation all the way ,
Over 4000 Transporter clients have now interacted with us in some way and on the few occasions where they may have issues we respond in the fastest professional way /

Normally Warranties are specific to the original purchaser and should be handled by the supplying company . I am glad you approached us directly as the correct way would have seen delays and frustration i believe .

Afternoon folks,

Just a(nother) write-up to acknowledge the fantastic work that Steve and his son James @CRS Performance performed on my T6.1 camper on Monday.

As mentioned its a camper build that has LV 20" wheels, staggered but the same budget/mid level 275/40x20 tyres back and front....far from ideal and will be addressing that in the near future. The builder installed (what they told me) were official VW -30mm lowering springs all-round.

Van was sitting too low at the rear, the additional weight hadn't been taken into consideration. The ride was god-awful....I'm well used to hard rides, got some toys that are set up for the job of trackdays or firm GT ride, but even by my standards, this was very uncomfortable. Dead smooth motorways were fine until an inevitable ridge or sunken piece of tarmac, then it would hop around, pitching the front far more than it should. Regular A and B roads were just dreadful, the whole van interior shaking and rattling to the point where I was starting to not enjoy driving it. And it's my "daily" ....which then becomes a problem.

I'd spoken to Steve a month or so before collecting the van last Sept, as I knew this was going to be the case, but after one particularly uncomfortable journey recently with my good mate @Jeff G , I was close to losing my s**t and put a call into Steve to pick-up the conversation.

I happened to be up in CRS's neck o'the woods for a weekend at the WSBK at Donington, and seeing as I was so close (but live a long way away), Steve very kindly slotted me in for a Monday appointment; this was supposed to be a deliberately quiet week for them, to get some refitting done, so thanks Steve for butchering your plan for me!

After some chatting over the options, coffee in hand, we decided that because I'm not looking for crazy low ride heights (it's my daily...needs to cope with all sorts of ramps, campsite terrain, particularly aggressive speed humps...), his custom built Koni dampers and suitable springs, along with rear ride height adjustment perches, were the way forward....for lower ride heights, they have other solutions, but "K.I.S.S." on this occasion.

Two hours later and we're out on test drives, Steve sitting in the passenger seat telling me not to lift for the speed bump, take it at normal speed....er....ok. Well, what a transformation (shock horror, how did you know I was going to type this?!). It took me 8hrs to get home again, some en-route work Zoom calls to do, and I was grinning from ear to ear. Observations....

  • The whole interior is so much quieter...it's now very very close to Jeffs Hillside that rides on 17" OE wheels and stock ride heights. The last remaining squeak will be addressed next week as part of a snagging list appointment with the van builder.
  • Can you still hear/feel the roughest of ruts/bumps? Of course....let's not kid ourselves, this is a commercial vehicle, not a Bentley Mulsanne. As Steve said, it takes the sting out of everything, couldn't put it better myself. But there's now so much more control, not at all soft or woolly, it "breathes with the road" (God I hate myself for typing that, but on this occasion I cant think of a better way to describe it)
  • Steering is now more communicative, now the RH is correct without its saggy arse. No more steer-n-hope.
  • I also noticed that the van was subtly more spritely...again, not going to kid anyone its the same as a remap, but it does feel "different". I then also noticed that coast down was far better, which then led me to look at...
  • The MPG....the best I'd ever achieved previously (it's a 150hp T28 Highline, DSG of course)...being super careful and in slow moving traffic, was v low 34's. I could get 33's if I tried pretty hard and at normal pace of traffic, 60-65mph and over a long run. But 40 miles into the return drive, without even trying and lots of stop/starting, accelerating, braking on the A5, I was up at 36.7mpg. I'm putting this down to the RH correction, the geo being closer to stock and therefore toe scrub vastly reduced. Obviously, if a geo had been done with the previous setup, then this could've achieved the same, but I always knew that this purchase would be on the cards so never bothered. (I had hoped that the van builder would do this, if I'm honest)
  • Finally, now when I look out of my kitchen window at the van, it looks "just right"...again its a subtlety that 99.9% of people wouldn't notice but if you have a van, "you know".
So, as many before me have typed, I wouldnt hesitate in recommending Steve and this setup, I'm now enjoying the drive and less embaressed/apologetic to my passengers. Oh, and it turns out they weren't official VW lowering springs, they appeared to be Cobra....cheap tat, unmarked and fit for the bin. If anyone does need my old dampers, 8k miles old, they're with CRS, help yourself and stick £20 in a charity bucket (preferably RNLI)

Spencer.

This is where I am currently with my Caravelle, it's on std caravelle shocks and -30mm Sportline springs, which actually has resulted in 70mm lower than std at the front! It's on the std 235/55 17" wheels too so nothing low profile!

Motorway joints are... Ok. And smooth roads are great... That's about it

Every ripple, or slightly raised drain cover is felt, broken tarmac makes the van shudder and rattle, tarmac joints across the road are met with a 'KER-DUNK!!" and proper potholes, oh man - it feels and sounds like something has just hit the van!

If you see a black T6 swerving all over the road in Kent, it's probably me trying to find some smooth tarmac!

I'm getting booked in for the CRS treatment in a couple of weeks, thank god!

These are the go to guys for suspension and brakes. Looking forward to seeing the crew a week on Saturday to get the rear brakes sorted

Great write up and assessment of benefits. I particularly agree with the “seems more spritely” sentiment

Another big thumbs up to Steve and the team, rear brakes replaced and a couple of other issues sorted in no time. Fantastic service as always and great to see you all
