Review: Ovano

@Village im going to pull the trigger on one of these. I didn’t like the idea of the draw at first but after seeing it now I’m sold.

Honest thoughts? Any niggles? Plus I want that mat as well.

I have a van king one now. Although it’s good I have to crawl in to get stuff. Those little knobs also fall off after time with my low ride and that really annoys me.
Still love it. The craftsmanship and finish are superb, and the drawer is probably the best thing about it. Just makes the boot so much more useable. The bed/bulkhead mechanism is really easy to set up too.

Niggles? I have had a bit of a rattle but Josh has sent out new hinges which have cured that. The only real issue is I can’t get the bikes in. Otherwise, can’t fault it.

“Van king” always makes me snigger!

OK folks, I have a courier available to collect 2 other switch kits on Thursday afternoon and bring them to Scotland
Does anyone else want one.

I have one on order too :)
It'll probably be my first trip in the new van to collect it...

I wanted a custom logo drawn into the lowest upstand section but I'm not clued up on the file formats required for the CNC machine, I have a logo saved with Arco for my workwear.
Anyone know how to convert file formats etc ?

Myself and Gordon installed our Ovano kits last night, I set mine up today with my tools and spares, brilliant quality piece of equipment and exactly what I was looking for.
Even with all my spares boxes in I still have room for larger spares on top with the new shelf behind the first upright, I did want my company logo drawn into that section but with everything loaded like this you wouldn't see it now anyway.
With the restrictions on travel we decided it best to organise our own courier, Josh and his dad were kind enough to accomodate our request and allow a delivery of the Switch XL x2, having said that, it was all at our own risk.
The courier was excellent, packed well and protected from strap rub en-route.

Here they are........

I see they have made another small improvement. The two vertical bits that slide out to release the bed (sorry don’t know what to call them) are now open so you can get your hand inside them to pull them out.

I never noticed that, there isn't the clamp now either, a new design of stability for the bulkhead is now in place

I'm next to John O groat's.... I'd be looking at 22 hours drive or 1200 miles round trip. Really hoping for a delivery option in the future. Would be a good excuse for a road trip though.

Hi @Arrow The courier I used was great, I said to him that you were also interested and where you were, he wasn't at all phased. I can PM his number if you like, obviously this is totally independent to Ovano at the moment and entirely at your own discretion.

Brilliant! Yes, please send me the details. Where are you, and at what cost?

I hope these are of good use folks, I know i was looking for info too before I bought one, nothing compares to actually seeing it and touching it but honestly, it's better than I expected and the drawer works smoother with weight in my opinion.

You can see the new locking system for the top, no more clamp to snag or lean in to unlock.

Transformed, I now have a load area when I need it.

Josh has kindly said he would build me a lower unit. I will use it without kombi seats. Could you possibly let me know if unit was lower if you think you could sit on the bulkhead panel in the van and lean back against the raised panels (the format in your photos) - will be cushioned. Thank you very much

If the bulkhead is raised there's no ledge to sit on facing forward.
The standard height is right at the widest opening of the van too remember.
Why lower if you don't mind me asking.

I will never use it with the bulkhead raised or with the 2nd row of kombi seats in. Just for my husband and myself to use as a play van - love all the space underneath for toys. Would go for narrow to store board. Would like it to be at a height visitors could sit/perch on. Wondered if they would be able to lean back on 2nd/3rd panel but I think bulkhead v deep

Very close to getting the narrow LWB version.

What size surfboards and SUPs are people getting in their vans on the left now? I have longboards and not sure they will get in that line.

Also I can imagine sitting on the bed facing backwards looking out the tailgate up against the mini bulkhead. Does that work?
