Review: Ovano

Had mine fitted this morning. I had ordered back in October and originally had a December fitting date but what with work and lockdowns we finally got there today. Have to say very good comms at all stage from Nancy, rapid response and super helpful.

Josh and Nick are very nice guys and the product is lovely. It´s not cheap but I can see the value in it for sure. I had to pimp it up with the carpet drawer insert, and to be honest it turns the huge void at the back of a Kombi into a much better structured storage area. betwee the drawer and top shelf with the bulhead in position you effectively double the floorspace for boxes up to 500mm high in the drawer and 700mm on the shelf while keep all the seat in position.

Worth saying that the fitting is now carried out in a new workshop, just around the corner and Josh could see me wandering aimlessly at the previous address and called me and talked me in - it´s right next door to the original workshop but you have to drive around to get there and I´m sure the online address will be updated shortly. A real pleasure to deal with these people and fabulous quality of product.

Something that I discussed is that it is perfectly possible to remove the top of the bed system (4 bolts and 2 separate pieces of ply) and leave the drawer system in place. This means you effectively get back full height if you need to carry a tall item it can just go in the drawer. This job can be done by a single person in 5 minutes whereas removing the whole assemble is a good two man job.

I got a full demo and Josh said if there were ever any problems to give him a call and within reason they could probably sort it out. They have now installed 180 of these and not had one back yet.

We spoke also about the work in progress on the mountain bike version and I´m sure there will be a big reveal when the lads are happy with the product.

Anyway just to say thank you to Josh, Nick and Nancy for getting this done for me today. I attach a few snaps that I took for my own records and to show you guys why I´ll never be a professional photographer and of course so you know it really happened!IMG_3522.jpgIMG_3521.jpgIMG_3520.jpgIMG_3519.jpgIMG_3518.jpgIMG_3517.jpgIMG_3516.jpgIMG_3515.jpgIMG_3514.jpgIMG_3513.jpgIMG_3512.jpgIMG_3511.jpg

Be safe everyone.

Can’t wait to see the bike version. I am after one (or something) where I can get a surfboard all the way down the left right up to the captains chair. And even walk down that side of the van. Like a half one that can be a double bed if you want and a bench when you don’t.

Be safe everyone.

Thanks so much for coming Derek. Was a pleasure having you.

Sorry, the workshop was (still is) such a mess. We're in the middle of a move.

Come on Josh, let's see the MTB version :)

We've gone back to the drawing board a couple of times with now I'm afraid, and we're playing with some different fixtures.

As you can imagine, due to the beginnings of Spring/ end of lockdown, demand for our current products has increased and is using most of our resources.

We're trying, I promise.

No problem at all Josh! Glad you are busy as it shows it's a decent product and any delays means I'm spending less money!!

Ordered the mat to go with mine and have now chucked it in and given it a bit of a test. Very tidy; nice piece of kit and stops everything sliding about. Definitely a good addition. Does have a bit of a strong rubber smell though so if you have a chance to air it beforehand all the better. Inevitably there will be cheaper ways of achieving the same thing but I'd definitely recommend it

Really like their work. I would go for it if my surfboards could get under to the front captains

You should smell our studio after a pallet load of them being delivered.

Does anyone have the measurement between the draw and the shelf please?

We're looking into what can fit into it! We don't get ours until May and don't want to buy anything that doesn't fit!

On website it says drawer height 495mm and from what I understand there could be a bit of flex in the top when lying down so I am working on 475mm approx

Hello, getting mine fitted Friday can’t wait. Had anyone brought a portable fridge that fits in the drawer, I want to get biggest fridge possible
Seen this

not sure if will be too big or not

That's 49cm high which I think will fit but top sheet of ply might flex onto when you are lying on it. Just Kampers 45L is 45cm high and may be a safer bet Just Kampers 45Lt 12v-230v Electric Compressor Cool Box Fridge / Freezer - J43372.
Dometic CFX3 75 (65L) is 472mm high but costs £1000. I've been looking for best fit fridge too!

Thanks for that, good price too, no doubt I will have researched every compressor fridge on the planet before I take the plunge, will post a picture once I get it!!
