Self de-badging

@Daviesmd I presume the *ahem* ‘rusty bullet hole’ isn’t VW standard? Was something fitted there previously? Camera?

I would like to remove the transporter lettering on the rear door.
I know it’s on with 3M tape which is stickier than sticky the stick insect, so what would be a good way to go about it so I dont cause paint issues?

I have some IPA (not the beer) but read this is not good for the paint.
Any suggestions???
Thanks

@huw169 Just warm the letters up with a hairdryer and they will come off easily. Then clean the residue off with panel wipe.

spray them with Mr Sheen and leave for approx 10 minutes, dissolves the glue and they are easily removed with no chance of scraping the paint behind

I've got to say that I always use Isoprop for a final wipe over before doing any touch ups on car paintwork and it's never been an issue. Although not on my T6, I've also used some stuff called 'Stick Stuff Remover' on paintwork to remove leftovers from a sticker that some moron put on my year old Audi SQ5 a couple of years ago - 2 XMykal Sticky Stuff Remover 250ml: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home. It didn't do any harm on that occasion but I would definitely test it on a hidden area first. That said, it does seem to leave a slightly greasy residue behind it which, again, was cleaned off with a quick wipe over with Isoprop. Good luck.
