Well that's sorted after getting another DCC50S from Renogy, £229 on offer for the basic unit as I've got the Bluetooth module already... but not the app... yes, I know, I'm a knuckle dragger.
Anyway we're charging from the solar and alternator so a happy bunny again, thought I'd include a picture as the heatsink is about 25mm deeper than the previous V2 version and the solar input now goes to 50 volts so more choice of solar panel connections although it's a bit cosier under there.

contact ROAMER customer support,It's the 230Ah one mate, it's heavy but not 414Ah heavy!
there is a FW update for the BMS that resolves this issue.
Basically the BMS isn't resetting to 100% SoC so the capacity keeps climbing.
