As far as I can see both these items are compatible

It seems the most cost effective way of getting an awning. Two questions 1)are they compatible 2) have I overlooked anything else ?

Rail has a channel for 6mm/7mm bead and awning comes with a 6mm bead attached so they seem compatible and I don’t think you’ve overlooked anything (assuming you don’t have a pop-top as that rail not compatible with a pop-top).

Hard core camping in the snow, ( hard core because the leisure battery ran out and I had forgotten the hook up lead) so the heater stopped working about 3am.

Better - definitely yes. Cheaper - unless you want to go for a simple tarp, probably not.

For around the same price is there anything else I should look into ? I presume the rail is relatively universal. I want to leave this on and attach the awning for day trips and then use the same rail for a drive away tent.

Some advice please guys, I’ve just ordered the Vango Kela 3 low for my LWB. Looking to purchase a kador strip and a figure of 8. I assume I need a 3m kador as it’s just longer than the kela however I’m confused with the figure of 8. Do I need a 3m long one? The ones I’m seeing on eBay are all shorter. I’m a bit confused

I have an Vango air beam figure of 8 and kador strip for my Kela 111 and my figure of 8 is in 3 pieces each 1m long

I bought a 3m one for my SWB, then just cut it down to the exact size I needed for the van.

Edit - just realised I’m better with 3 1m lengths so that I can pack it away. A 3m rigid figure of 8 wouldn’t pack away easily

When most of these awnings are fitted, do you find that they are quite a wide set up
Are you able to use them on most camp sites
