That's very nice.. great when they are mint mines 48k miles paint is great but I was going to go big power or underside. My dad has an escort rs turbo with 31k miles full strip and shell respray etc so it will be lovely.. its so nice to see people with love for cars or vans in general
 
It's amazing how progress moves the game on.

I can remember when the Escort Cossie was a serious weapon, now there are faster Mini's that do 200,000 plus reliable miles and 40+ MPG.

But in their day they really were something. Can't remember the last time I saw one in the wild now :(
 
If its the trend of the 90s anything now that is limited and with big archers.. but saying that I had e46 m3 csl 1400 ever made I lost out on that but still looking at the e46 there holding and doing well that's not an old car

Typically anything that's rare and/or a special performance model.

So modern cars, things like the GR Yaris, Alpine A110, Cayman GT4 etc.

Older stuff, cars like the BMW Z4 3.0, Z4M (but that's already falling into that category although £20k gets a nice one).

Jury's out on whether EV's will make it to be future classics, although I believe that cars like the BMW i3 will - due to the relative rarity, full carbon tub chassis etc. BMW i8 would be another.
 
Stuff like the original Honda Insight are now cult classics and good one command serious lolly.
 
@Andy McCannick That’s absolutely lovely. The Marcos was a brilliant car. Back in the 70s I owned one very like that for a few years. It was a wood-chassis 1967 1600 Ford engined GT that was originally registered as PVB 555E but subsequently re-registered as XKG 92. I found it in a very sorry state in an old garage in South London as a rolling shell without engine, glass or loom. During its restoration, I discovered it had been originally owned by John Britten Racing and had originally been raced by John himself (John Britten was the owner of Arkley cars and the Tecno chain of photographic stores). John was a friend of Gem Marsh (one half of the Marcos brand name) and was bought from him from their Bradford-on-Avon factory.

It had originally been fitted with a Ford 1500 race engine and a 2000E gearbox but as the running gear had been lost I replaced it with a modified 1600 crossflow engine from a 1600GT Cortina. I spent four years restoring it only to sell it to a guy from Liverpool in 1978 after having driven it just a few hundred miles. I scared myself taking it down the Kingston bypass as it went like stink being so light and having a grunty power unit under that long bonnet. I still wonder what happened to it.

Where do I start? Myself and two mates started building it in 2010 from scratch took 10years to get it to the stage it’s at now with a lot of blood sweat and tears.Im no engineer so my mate who done the critical work like cylinder block trunk guides crank etc gave me a very old mill and I purchased a lathe and machined flywheel gear blanks and loads of fittings.Its approx13’ long and weighs just over a tonne. It was in old glory back in 2020

Hence I had to sell the T5 and bought an Isuzu pickup to tow it on a trailer grossed at 3.5 tonne.I sold the engine last October hence back to a dub.:oops: The Alchin is a nice little engine:thumbsup:

Yeah I owned the CSL for 5 years, sold it to fund a house purchase. Sold for £50k worth circa £90k now. Was still under BMW warranty! M12 3R noble.. took me months to find an example like that it was mint. Works GP was a fun little car.
