So What Trips Have You Got Planned For 2020 ?

just remember your vignettes. :)

Austria
These stickers record that you have paid the road tax that allows you to ride on the motorways. In Austria, tourists can buy a vignette good for ten days. Currently, this ten-day sticker costs € 9. You can also purchase them for durations of two months (€ 26,20) or one year (€ 87,30).

Swiss
A guide to the 2020 Swiss motorway vignette. Any car, motorbike or trailer using the motorways will need one: the motorway vignette. The sticker costs 40 francs (36.50 euros) and is valid from December 2019 to the end of January 2021. If you are stopped by the police and don't have a vignette, it will cost you.

If your driving in winter then don't forget to check the tyre requirements...

Thanks-very much for these tips @czmate1999, I was quite confused with the vignette but this clears it up

I hope everyone's plans include the July 17-18-19 Rutland weekend
Unfortunately, we can't make that weekend as we will be on our Canada/Alaska tour that was postponed from last year (due to Mrs Loz's emergency surgery and accidental Heart Atack) other than that, we will be camping at least once a month at various locations in the UK

I'd be interested on your experiences of this trip @hoggle , I've booked the same ferries but for June. Not planned much yet may just follow my nose and see what I find. But excited to explore the outer Hebrides. Let me know if there are any must see's.
Will do. But first thing i have done is book a night at Borve Campsite on Barra. You arrive on Barra from Oban at 18.30, so i wanted to be sure to have somewhere to stay the first night.

I have spent quite a bit of time out west for work and windsurfing, Tiree is easily my favourite island but it's a bit harder to get to than some of the others.
Also has a system for campervans staying on crofts, you are not allowed to park up wild like the old days. Things have been revised for 2020, more info here
I shall be there this summer, more than once if the Boss approves

Driving through to Switzerland for camping / cycling ventures. Did the same last year 2600 mile round trip through UK, France, Switzerland and Italy.
I drove all the way back from Italy managing to dodge every pot hole and mad driver.... and the only driver I should have looked out for was my wife who drove into the back of the T6 on my drive the following day after returning!!:unsure::laugh:

A bit unexpected and not with the van, but looks like we are heading off to Namibia and Botswana for 4 weeks of safari and off road driving in September. Still hoping a week on Tiree is on the cards too. To say I'm a bit excited is an under statement

With you on that one mate..... I always get way too excited about a Tiree trip .
Seriously sounds like a great trip.

Recently quoted to move someone to Tiree, was gutted not to get the job as I would have gone with the move. It looked like a great place to go to, did a move to Mull in 2017 and loved it but did not have the camper then.

It's on the list but not yet, have a moaning 16 year old who would not like it and family commitments don't make it possible at the moment but in a couple of years it will be.

Took my teenage girls on holiday to Tiree for the first time ever about 10 years ago. I have been going for over 25 years for windsurfing. Anyway they nearly mutinied and refused to go. No shops, no phone signal, nothing to do!
They went and the first thing they did when they got home two weeks later was book a place for the following year and they have both been back multiple times and still love it.

May my favourite month to go, the machair in full bloom and weather usually pretty good and it's not heaving with visitors.

I went in December, the week before Christmas in 2017, it was warmer up there than it was in Sussex we had sunshine and a really calm crossing both ways.

Just booked Germany trip, Stuttgart, then on to Berchtesgaden calling at Strasbourg and Bruges on way back to Calais.
stuttgart is a lovely city, I lived out there due to work for 3 years. Berchtesgaden is absolutely beautiful , its a great view from the top of the "eagles nest" too . I've always said I'd love to go back in our camper, any sites you can recommend would be great .

Have not been before, as we spent every summer holiday in France.

We are staying at Campinplatz Allweglehen, it looks good and their communication has been superb.

So all looking good.

Our overnight and longer trips in our T6 camper tend to be fairly spontaneous, but we are already planning for 2020.

We are almost certainly going back to Portugal either just before or just after the school summer holidays - our time there this year was great, and there is so much more to see.

Already booked is a visit to France in June for a week or so, which is timed to include catching the Le Mans 24 hr race weekend. I have been many times (by car, not van), but it will be the first time for my wife.

Anyone else planning anything yet ?

Pete

17 nights in Southern France and Northern Spain, crossing the Pyrenees at some point. Early August and really looking the ward to it already!
