Took the leads direct from the panel, cut plugs off and wired into controller. No display, but usbs on controller showing powered by little USB plug in light I have.
Looking at instructions, I'll have to connect a battery to get the display.
What!!!!!!
Why on earth take the connectors off? Just swap the wires at the controller like I said earlier.
To labour the point: THE BATTERY MUST BE CONNECTED FIRST THEN THE PANEL
Nice Xmas pressy, it beats assembling Lego transformers and sticking transfers on them for the grandchildren!
oh - consider putting a fuse inbetween the controller and the battery, something like this does the job
Free delivery and returns on eligible orders. Buy 0.5m 4.0mm cable with 50A battery plug on one end, a 10A fuse, and 8mm ring (eyelet) battery terminals on the other end, suitable for Photonic Universe folding solar charging kits at Amazon UK.
If that is one of the cheap £40 100w panels that I linked to some time ago the cables from the panel are only 2.5mm not the 4mm that one would expect. I only got the panel for keeping my car's battery charged up while parked up but it hasn't managed to do that even - I didn't expect much charge through the screen but it has been so grey and dull here since fitting it hasn't helped at all!
