Standard heating on 2017 T6 Trendline diesel.

Can anyone advise on this one:
All my previous vehicles have a heater control that can be manually adjusted to blow in air at the temperature I want. The colder it is, the warmer I set the air to blow through.
The T6 seems to have a thermostatic control that blows in hot air until the temperature in the van is at that set on the knob.
So, cool day, all of a sudden I get a blast of really hot air until the interior has warmed up.
All I can do is turn the fan speed down.
I'm assuming this is the norm with all new vehicles and I am stuck with it?
My previous vehicles, going backwards, were 2002 Transit, 1994 Transit, 1966 Viva, 1985 Escort.....

The one thing i dislike about the heating on my 2017 T6 is it is either artic or volcano. Finding a happy medium is a nightmare especially on long trips. I now find that if I leave the temperature knob just under the middle setting (22c -ish) it seems to balance after about 20 mins.

But keeping my legs & feet warm is also a challenge. The screen, face or combination setting doesn't really work that well and I constantly change it to one or the other to get a happy compromise. I've taken to running my Eberspacher on low to keep the van warm overall and use the heating controls for my feet.

Ski trips can be a challenge!

You're right, the heating is thermostatic. My best advice is to pick a temperature and forget about it - as an example, I set the temperature to just before 22, fans to 1 and airflow to feet and screen (9 o'clock) and never need to adjust it throughout winter. If you have the air directed to just the windscreen it will blow hot regardless of temperature setting.
