Stop/Start Not Working

Mine fails to restart too often as well. At a recent service they said they couldn’t find anything wrong. I often feel obliged to push the button to disable the system, especially if it’s a more critical location.
To be honest if I had the gear to disable it permanently I would as the starter motor must be taking a pounding.

No fault lights on. I have drove to the lakes yesterday and all was ok I looked at the link Dellmassive put up and it looks like it’s probably just one of the many boxes that need ticked for it all to work.
My wife keeps blaming the Kenwood say nav that Vw just fitted as she doesn’t like it and I must Agree for the money it’s very poor I use it yesterday and when the sun shone on it it was hard to see.
It’s in for its last service under warranty in 2 weeks so will get them to check it over . Thanks

I hard wired a few bits I.e. dash cam, sat Nav into a spare in the middle (switched 12v) row of the fuse box with stopped my start/stop working and brought error on the dash. Might be worth checking when they fitted the replacement stereo, they didn’t take a live from there for maybe aerial amplifier or something else.
Just a thought as weird it’s playing up since.

It was fitted at Vw it’s the one they sell as a retro fit.
I did take the feed for my heated seats from there so I will have a look.
Cheers

I am in my first couple of weeks ownership of a 2017 T6 and I'm not sure that the stop start is working properly.

I think it might have stopped the engine once or twice early on, but definitely hasn't in the last week or so. Is it likely to be the battery? (It is a Moll...)

If so, would it be covered under warranty?

Thanks!

Edit - It might be how I am driving it. I need to make sure that I knock it out of gear and come off the clutch. Not sure I typically do that.

Your stop start may have been disabled by the previous owner, but it could be that you have a/c on or the engine is doing a regen (cleanup), and in which case start stop does not kick in.

When you say that you’re in your first couple of weeks of ownership, I take it that you’ve recently bought the van? It has probably sat for a while, so the battery isn’t at its peak 80% charge.
I had that with another (stop/start) car and it took a good month or so before Stop/Start kicked in regular.

If you do lots of short journeys, this won't work. The battery has to be in good condition too.

Take it on a run then see what happens.

That said, I hate this device and worry about the damage being done to the starter etc on my van, so turn it off

Are you running your AC? My stop/start doesn't work when the blower dial is turned above one.

I turn everything off including the radio blower etc. Still only works on a long run. I believe it’s the battery isn’t fully charged and causes it. I’m not too concerned

Do you have a MOLL battery? They don't hold their State of Charge particularly well.
